I believe you know when you've hit the right weight. You body lets you know.
As long as you are in a healthy BMI and within the right range for your height and age I say listen to your body.
I originally thought my goal would be 170 but when I hit it I knew I could go lower and feel good....I went to 150 and then 145.....I felt FANTASTIC! I just had plastic surgery and am swollen but once I lose the fluid weight I'll go back to 145 and I think my final weight (after my next surgery next year) will leave somewhere around 140 and I believe that will be perfect. I weighed 135 when I was 22...I never thought I'd be anywhere close to that again so I end up somewhere between 135 and 140 I will be beyond happy. BUT the final decision will be how I feel...if I don't feel healthy I go back up to the 140-145 range. I want this to last for the rest of my life so I'm not going to struggle and diet just to stay 5 lbs lighter on the scale....Know what I mean??
Anyhow,.......listen to your body and I send best wishes to you!

Thanks everyone. Well so far this week since Sunday I've not lost anymore weight I'm still at 162.2 but I'll wait and see what happens on my "official" weigh in day on Sunday. I'm hoping I might go down a tiny bit. It seems the weight loss has for sure slowed, I guess that's normal the smaller I'm getting at least I assume it is. I'm really hoping I can at least get to 145 but I'll just see how it goes. Right now I'm just keeping doing all the right things and seeing what happens.

Hello peeps!
Yes, I still exist.
I believe that, since some of the charts don't take age into consideration, you have to use a little common sense. I looked great at 125 lbs when I was 20 - pretty sure that wouldn't be the case at 52! YIKES. So, I chose a goal of 140 (Went back and re-read my entries in August, 2006). Ended up at 130, then went to the gym and bulked up the chicken legs and stuff and landed between 135-140. Have happily stayed there since late fall, 2006. I'm 5'7 1/2" and fairly average frame. At 161 I felt very uncomfortable in my own skin. It's amazing how much of a difference HEALTHY weight loss made in my appearance. The common remarks are more about the "glow" and the energy than anything. I also no longer look like I'm part puffer fish.
Hey, Miss Mary and all you non-surgical board people! I hope you all are having a miraculous Holiday Season!

Changing lives, one breakfast at a time!
I am feeling great at the weight I am now which is 159. I have tons of energy and I love that. But I know I for sure want to get to 150 and most likely I will go to at least 145 and then see from there. My biggest area that needs work is my stomach. I'm working on it everyday and hoping that even when I am done losing I can keep working and toning up and losing inches. I would like to drop a few more sizes I'm in a size 12 pants right now and some shirts I can wear a medium and in some I need a large. So not too bad. I started out wearing around a 24 pants and a 2X - 3 X shirt.
