WOW!!!

Has anyone used the HealthTracker feature on here?!?!? I just did it today for the first time... it is SUPER easy to use, I think I can actually keep up with it! (I'm REALLY bad about being able to keep tabs on what I eat..)

Anyways, I wanted to say that I'm REALLY glad that I did it!!! I thought I ate relatively healthy today... (minus the potato chips and cheeseburger from dinner...) But to my dismay I was rudely awakened to find that I went way over my calories, carbohydrates, sodium amounts, and FAT amounts!

That is probably one of the reasons that I am at the size I am... I have NO clue what the nutritional breakdown is in the foods that I've been eating. CLEARLY.

I have quite a bit of learning to do!! Tomorrow will be better...  I am so thankful that I found this tool to help me actually "SEE" the breakdown of my foods!!!

I had never tried the one here before - it is similar to the others I have used - MyPlate on Livestrong.com and also Fitday.com - I think they each have strong points. I really hate to track my food, but every time I've been successful with weigh loss it involved tracking so I am going to try to start doing it again. Rats, fooie.

I ALWAYS hated tracking my food too... I tried fit day and weigh****chers online... none of them seemed to "work" for me. I really love the ease of the Health Tracker -- especially since I put myself on a 40-30-30 breakdown of Protein-Carb-Fat calorie breakdown... WHICH the health tracker does AUTOMATICALLY and charts for me, so I can check it constantly to make sure I'm in balance!!!

It's a REALLY great tool, and I've already lost 2 lbs this week by keeping my food choices in check. Also, if I want something "bad" (i.e., bacon the other day that hubby was making for bacon cheeseburgers) I logged it in to see what it would do to my calories and macronutrients, and 2 slices wasn't going to throw me off at all, so I allowed myself TWO slices in my trukey wrap for dinner.

Give it a shot! It's fun! Plus all the charts are cool, if you have an aim... I always hated logging my food when I didn't have a "goal" that I could see (i.e, the pie chart shows my breakdown of protein-carbs-fat %)

Congratulations on taking off the two pounds and glad to hear you found a tool that works for you.  What you said reminded me of all of the "heavy folk" I've known who always seem to say that they really don't eat that much.  Good Lawd, if they only knew!

I'm glad to know that it has a sodium tracker on it because so many people just don't realize just how much sodium is in processed foods and how that makes you bloat for DAYS.  You know what THAT can do to a scale!

I never tracked my foods before... it was always, "too much of a pain"... how on earth I lost so much weight so many other times, WITHOUT keeping track is beyond me! I used to limit my carbs to AM meals only... and high protein in the PM, unlimited fats -- and I exersized like they do on Biggest Loser (6-8 hours a day!) I think because I was exersizing so much, it pretty much didn't matter WHAT I was eating, LOL, I was burning everything off and then some.

But, a lifestyle of exersizing 8 hours a day is not feasable for me anymore. I have a family, I have children, I just cannot abandon them to work out all day, every day.

I guess my overall theme with this "new life" revelation that I've had is all about balance. Balance meals, balance exersize, balance time, balance my emotions, balance LIFE.
