To All It May Concern:
I want to apologize for constantly plugging OA, and for expecting everybody to not eat any sweets or anything. I realize I was like you at one time, and now, with recovery, I'm not.
My abstinence is a gift from my Higher Power, not something to be copied. I got it from working the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous from their Big Book as adapted for OA.
I realize that OA is for those who want it, not for those who need it. I will stop plugging OA, and stop expecting anybody to give up sweets.
Sorry,
Denise Phares/Highpow

Hey Denise, you know I realize that not everyone who is overweight is actually addicted to food so OA is not the answer for every overweight person. But when you suggest OA to others we realize that you are only doing it because you want everyone else to find the peace of mind that you have found using OA and it comes from the goodness you have in your heart to try to find help for others who are suffering.
So I applaud your kindness of heart and I'm glad to see that you've come to realize that telling someone your story is easier for them to grasp than recommending OA to someone who just needs to cut down on their Oreo consumption.
How goes your new eating plan?

Dear Mary:
My eating plan has been revised to six small meals a day. I get hungry that often, now. I am exercising as much as I can, by walking outside. I am losing more inches than weight, now.
Thank you for your support of me. I know you are in OA, too. And you're right - not everyone who is overweight needs OA, nor is a compulsive overeater, either.
Your OA friend,
Denise Phares/Highpow
P.S.: I want to thank you for your support over the years. You've obviously got recovery - more than me, right now.
