Good weigh in at curves this month
I had my weigh in at curves for the month on Wednesday I wasn't as great as I had hoped for inches but the rest was pretty good. I lost 8.75 pounds this month and 4 and 1/2 inches and 5.84 body fat pounds. So overall the numbers were pretty good. I think the inches weren't as great because I typically weigh in first thing in the mornin but this time it was closer to noon and I had been standing up working for the previous 5 hrs so I don't know if that affected my inches around my waist or not but I think it's possible.
I can for sure tell though my inches are going down quite a bit because my 14's that I bought about 6 weeks ago and they were snug then are falling off of me, I'm fitting great into a size 12 now which is just amazing.
I'm dreading and very worried about the holidays, I'm hoping I can remember moderation when I have Thanksgiving Dinner so I don't make my weight go up and I can keep my trend of losing pretty good.
What's everyone else doing for the Holidays to stay on track with losing?

Dear Johnita:
I commend you for your dedication to losing weight! I know how difficult that can be, and I'm trying to lose weight, too!
For Thanksgiving, I recommend that you stick to choosing healthy foods at that feast. That's what I am going to do, for I've had that same problem on Thanksgiving, too, in the past. I always wanted to eat some of everything there, and that's not good for anybody!
I'm preparing a side dish this time, with hummus and whole grain pita bread, to bring to my cousins for our feast, this year. At least it'll be healthy!
Good luck to you,
Denise Phares/Highpow

Thanks Denise, I'm really hoping that remembering my portion control will help me at Thanksgiving Dinner. I'm having my first Thanksgiving Dinner today then the next one will be on Thursday. So hopefully I can get practice today remembering to use portion control. It's so hard sometimes with all the great food around. I will do my best to remember how hard I have worked to get where I am and not let 2 meals this week mess up my hard work. However, if I do have a bad go at it I will remember that's how it goes sometimes and not be too hard on myself.
Today was a very good weigh in I managed to loose 2.4 pounds this week which was great because last week I only lost .02. I weighed in this morning at 164.8 I was thrilled to see that number on the scales. It's so hard to believe I'm just 14.8 pounds away from my goal.

You really have done fantastically well!
Original goal: lose 53 lbs. New goal: lose 68-78 lbs total.
wow a size 12!! thats amazing! and something to be thankful for!! we are all worried about the holiday weight gain, but we just have to go into it with a different mind set, enjoy the sites, smells, people and places this holiday, and yes the food too, but we can enjoy the food without stuffing ourselves on it, and we can also not use the excuse of "well it's the Holiday's" to eat what ever we want, when ever we want, going to be tuff but so worth it come Jan 1st of 2010! we can get thru it!
Congrats on your awesome success!

CONGRATS on losing 8.75 lbs....that's awesome!
I'm also impressed that you can wait a whole month to get on the scale.....not me....gotta do it every week. I fight not to do it daily (It was hard in the beginning but now I'm ok with only checking once a week).
I've had a difficult month and am not looking forward to this week (I have company for the week) so I really have to be extra focused this week.
I keep telling myself that so far as food goes there are no holidays.....this is my way of life all year and more than that I remind myself that I do not want to take a giant step backwards and undo any of the good I've done. Even a 5lb gain would be way too much....so I'm keeping a close eye on what I eat/drink and I'm going to be to journal (track my food) for the rest of the year.

My son and I go out to dinner at a nice-ish place in Seattle (13 Coins) that makes a traditional meal for a reasonable price. I try to only eat half the food. I take the rest home in a box for leftovers, but it is never as much as it would be if we made a meal at home. I love leftovers the next day, and I love not having to cook and clean! Basically I guess I eat a full thanksgiving meal but do it over 2-3 days so the calorie impact is not that bad.
We often go home from the meal out and blow leaves off the yard, adding excersie to the day, but it is going to be pouring rain this week so I think I will concentate on doing the kitchen tile work so I can finally say that project is DONE.
Have a nice holiday, everyone, however you spend it.

Woohoo, go you! Well I think you did great. I think you will do fine for Thanksgiving, and if not..Oh well!! It's a holiday and we eat on how many..two or three days a year?? If you eat a little too much, I have a feeling you will get right back on the wagon.I mean my gosh, you work at Curves for cryin' out loud! :)
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks everyone. Actually I can't wait a month either to weigh in that's just how often they do it at curves. I still weigh myself daily, I can't seem to not it keeps me accountable so I guess that is a good thing.
I had my first Thanksgiving Dinner this past Sunday and I did pretty well, until dessert and I asked someone else to cut my portion of cheesecake and I think that's the mistake I made because I ended up with way to big of a piece and of course I ate it all lol. With that said I'm only up .04 from Sunday's low of 164.8 so I'm not very worried about that. I will keep eating correctly and I know I'll be back down soon. I'm hoping before my next Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday. I plan to do better on dessert on Thursday.
I'm going to a different curves from the one I work at today to work out with a friend and I'm so excited because their curves has the curves smart and I hear it makes the work out so much harder so I'm excited to see if it does and also have a really hard workout hopefully that will push my weight back down.
