checking in
Hey all! Thought I'd check in and give some brief updates.
I'm at 296. Managed to stay under 300. Not really dieting much. I'm finally scheduled for surgery on Feb 9th. I ended up going with RNY after fighting for the DS for almost two years. Actually I think it has been two years. My RNY was approved in less than one month. Sad.. I'm having the RNY with the fobi so hopefully that'll limit any regain. So won't be much longer and I'll no longer be a non-op.
Good to see there are still a lot of you old timers around!

Wow, long time no see! Glad to hear you are finally having your surgery even though it wasn't your first choice. I am sure you will take that RNY and run with it! Better get in a few of those Butterfinger shakes before February! All the best!

Best wishes with your surgery and getting healthy!
Hey stranger,
So you are gonna break down and do it eh? Yanno, I've been sort of thinking about the same thing lately, but my insurance won't pay for it so it's useless. It really makes ya wonder how much trying is enough you know?
Good luck with it, and keep us posted!
Lucky guy, gonna be all hot stuff and all that shiz nit pretty soon. :)
Shoot girl I'm already hot and all that shiznit! :P I've been working on surgery for about 2 years now. So long that I had to redo my lab work and x-rays. I finally gave up on Dr. Voellingers office. His staff is just not friendly and they don't work very quickly. I went to se Dr Bauman in September and got all my work done and was approved by November 10th. So though it's not my first choice for surgery I have to do something. I've been fighting too long. 2 years is too much. And to think insurance approval was simple, it was dealing with his office that was the hard part.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.
Hey ya Chris....I know how you feel, as I've been after this WLS stuff for 3 yrs.... My Kaiser program just started offering the VSG this winter, so I have about 2 months to go finishing requirements...
You are correct "how long is too long?"....
Good to see you can have some kind of WLS , good for YOU!

Chris....I don't get on this board much any more but sure glad to see you check in. Good luck with your surgery and don't forget to keep us updated over here on the non-op board and include some pictures when that bod of yours gets even hotter and sexier!!!
Hey, CONGRATS!!! I am rarely on OH anymore and thought I'd stop over to my old "home" to see if anyone was posting from the "olden days" when I was a non-op.
Good luck with the RNY...you can make it work for you. I'm so glad I got my VSG. I know some people can lose and keep weight off without surgery and I'm happy for them. As for me, that isn't an option. My new anatomy gives me what I need to be successful. I LIVE with my decision every single day and am so happy I did it. I've got my life back. Heck, I'm now smaller than I was in my senior year in high school and I'm 38. Still getting used to that.
I will say even after surgery, this is still a battle that I will always fight. My tiny tummy helps me greatly and for that I'm very thankful.
