hey all to who are actually out there, lolol, boards' been quiet...
well since changing my decision to go from weight loss surgery to losing weight on my own...i thought i could use a little help, so i went to the drug store for some Dexarim, turns out they don't make it anymore cuz of the ephedrine that was in it?!!! wow, i didn't know that, i felt like an ass asking for it, lol. when i was a teen, the mother of the child i'd look after always had Dexatrim all over her house....i remembered it the other week...i guess i'm outta luck on that one. so i looked around and ended up buying this stuff called Max T with Hoodia. i was wondering if anyone has ever tried a product with hoodia in it???? i know it was the talk when it was first figured out....or maybe another one of my questions is who has tried any product to help them lose weight and how did it make you feel? did it help you??
i'm very curious as i have about 120lbs to lose, so it's gonna take a long time :( if any one can help me out i'd really appreciate it, thanks in advance!!

I have been using the product Isagenix to help me lose weight and get healthy in general, it is not a pill though, I dont really trust weight loss pills. I use it safely every day even give it to my children, it is not chemicals but all natural dense organic nutrition, in the form of shakes and soups and bars and snacks and cleanse. if u are interested  her is a link to watch www.shakeandcleanse.net good luck on releasing 120 lb's!

Hi Joanne. I wouldn't take any of those pills as they are not regulated and often the FDA has to step in and take them off the shelves because they have harmful ingredients.

I've lost 120 pounds so far and I'm eating food - I have more to lose but I know that I'll get down to where I need to be. You can check out what I'm doing if you are interested. There are several people there who have lost a lot of weight - much more than I've lost and all by eating the very food that makes you healthy. http://drmcdougall.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=11 If you read through these posts you'll find one with what people are eating.

Here is a link to the actual diet to eat if you're not looking to lose weight: http://drmcdougall.com/free.html

BTW, if you do go on this diet, you need to see your Dr. if you are on any medications because you will need to get off most of them within a week or so of following this diet carefully. Eating this way will drop your cholesterol and blood pressure down to normal quickly.

Joanne,
Years ago I lost about 125 lbs using pills that my doctor gave me.  I lost the weight and as soon the pills were gone the weight started to come back on.  I regained it all plus a few more.

I did this a second time and lost about 70 lbs and then regained it all PLUS another 40 lbs putting me over 300 lbs.

This time, I did it slow and healthy and I am 100% sure I will not regain it because I took the time to do it and make the changes in my relationship with food that I need to do.

With pills you do not make the changes you need to do to make it last.

My mom always said slow and steady wins the race......she is right.
Weigh****chers and Doctors will tell you that losing 1-2 lbs a week is the healthiest and safest way to lose all your weight and keep it off.
Sure I wish I could have lost it all in 6 months but since I did that already and ended up failing in the long run I decided to do it differently this time.  And I am so happy I did!!!!!!!!

Trust me, it doesn't seem so but if it takes you a year to lose it all you will be better off doing it slowly and it will be done before you know it.

PM me if you want to chat about it....

I wouldn't try pills either as they become a crutch.  Unless you plan to take pills the rest of your life - not recommended - the weight is just going to pile back on once you stop taking thim.

Moosie is right - slow, safe and steady weight loss is the way to go to keep it off permanently.
