Anyone out there at all?

Where is everyone?  This board has been pretty silent for awhile now.  I need to lose about 70 pounds before I can have  hip replacement surgery.  Have already lost about 24.  I am not doing WW, Jenny Craig or any of the popular plans, but am eating much healthier, around 1450 calories a day.  Am losing about 1-1.5 pounds a week, wi**** were faster but I am 54 years old and don't get much exercise due to my arthritic hip.  Have been lurking on this board for years but rarely post and up til now haven't lost any serious weight.  So, that's my story!!!

CONGRATS on your 24 lb loss!!!!!!! AWESOME!
I lost my 160+ lbs via healthy eating and exercise.

It's funny now that I am basically at goal I joined WW last week so I can learn how to do maintenance.  I've lost lots of weight before in my life but never kept it off.  This time is different and I want to do a healthy maintenance so I'm hoping they can help me.  :-)

Nice to meet you....hope you most again.

Things are slow around here, I poke my head in everyday to see whats going on and not much is. I wish I could help you Ruth on the maintenance question but im not their yet, and Mary I wish you luck on your weight loss journey!  Eating healthy is a GREAT plan!

Good for you for leaning on Jesus for support!  I lean on my Higher Power, too, although I just call Him God!  He helps me to eat healthy, too.  I belong to Overeaters Anonymous, have worked their 12 step program, and am losing without even trying!

Hi Mary, 24 pounds is a great start and 1-1.5 pounds is easy and safe on your body.Good to see you posting.

Thats great you have lost 24lbs. Sometimes it drops fast sometimes it drops slow. There are other things to try other than Jenny Craig and Weigh****chers. To lose more try 1000 calories/day instead and see how that works for you. Don't give up and think positive even if things aren't the way you want them to be right now.
