Anybody out there on maintenance?   How did you figure out how many calories to eat so you don't lose anymore but don't gain either.  I just joined Weigh****chers so I can learn how to do maintenance.

I've lost a lot of weight many times in my life but never maintained it so I want to be sure I do it right this time!!!

Any tips on maintenance???

Don't eat more calories than your body burns. Then you will maintain your weight.

But seriously:  Know what you are putting in your body, keep track of it, eat veggies and salad with lots of chewing, put your fork down between bites and switch to the 9" salad plate rather than the 12" dinner plate to make your portions seem bigger.

Measure your food. Weigh yourself weekly--if you gain a pound or two in one week, SCALE back on your intake! A one or two pound gain is EASY to get rid of. A 60 or 70 pound gain, accomplished by ignoring proper portion size AND foregoing the weekly weigh-in, is not so easy to drop!

And move, move, move! Find activities you like and get out and do them. That will burn more calories.

Dear moosie1234:

I attend meeting of Overeaters Anonymous.  I've recently worked their 12-step program, and I am eating very, very healthy now.  I eat healthy without even trying - vegetarian!  My weight automatically comes off, and my conscious contact with God helps me to get healthier and healthier all the time!

I don't want sweets any more - and that's no lie!  They just don't interest me, any more!  My husband has dropped them, too, because of me.

This is my suggestion for you, if you think you may be a compulsive overeater, like me (was).  I'm cured of it, now, because of OA, and my Higher Power.  I suggest you take advantage of OA, and try working their steps.  You'll find your'self going through profound changes in regard to food and your eating, too.

Yours truly,

Hi Denise,
As I was losing my weight I too ate VERY healthy and continue to do so.  I made so many changes in my eating habits and lifestyle that some of my family hardly know me or recognize me anymore.  I personally believe that without life changes nothing will work and stick.  Just my opinion.

I'm still eating very healthy and think I've lost enough and need to just maintain now.  My goal is to stay within 2 lbs.  I'll still weigh myself weekly because I think once a month could just open the door up too much.

Thanks for the tips!!!

I am on maintenance. I have been for almost three years now. I refuse to count calories, but I know how to be very aware of what 's going on.

Paying attention to your clothing and how it fits, weighing at least once per week, staying with the 100 oz water a day, and continuing with my nutritional cleansing program have all been great tools for me.

I wish you the absolute best! You have the right mindset to succeed.

Take care!

I lost my weight with, and continue to live healthy with, Isagenix. Today is actually my 3 year anniversary of reaching my goal weight.

It's NOT a colon cleanse - it helps the body do what it used to do before our world got so dirty.
