How many calories do you consume daily while "dieting"?
Ho much protein do you consume daily?

How often do you workout (daily, 2x a week, 3x a week, etc, etc)??
Do you do daily cardio?  How much (30 mins, 60 mins, etc)?
Do you lift weights? How often (1x week, 3x week, etc)??

How much water do you drink (pure water, not tea, drinks, etc)?

Do you journal your food intake and workout?

Sure appreciate any input you can share with me.

For me I don't believe what I'm doing is dieting, I believe it's a lifestyle change and I think that's why I will be succesfull this time because I have made it that.  As to calories, I try to consume between 1200 and 1400 calories a day.  With protein I try to get 70 or more grams a day it doesn't always happen but that's what I try for.  I workout 7 days a week, 5 days a week I do curves, I do wii fit 7 days a week and sometimes I add in some wii active and DDR.  This has been my main source of exercise since I started my new lifestyle.  Since the weather is cooling down I'm hoping to add in some hiking.

On water, I would love to get in a gallon a day but this doesn't always happen I consder it a good day if I can get in between 6 - 7 bottles (16.9oz each).

I do journal my food I find it helps me keep accountable for what I'm eating. I use fitday.com and it has really helped me see exactly what i'm eating how much protein I'm getting, carbs, and fats. Plus I also keep track of making sure I'm not getting to much sodium that way.

Hi Johnita,
Thanks for sharing.  Sounds like we are following a very similar plan.  I hesitated using the word "dieting" because I never use it in my own life.  I made a lifestyle change and decided to eat healthy for the rest of my life....I am not "on a diet".  Perhaps I'll edit my original posting...
Anyhow, thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it.

I'd love to try wii one day....it seems like it's fun....

Hi Moosie -

How many calories do you consume daily while "dieting"?
I'm not counting calories - I have no idea at all, I just eat food when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full.

How much protein do you consume daily?
I don't count how much protein I'm consuming, but I know that I eat more than I need.

How often do you workout (daily, 2x a week, 3x a week, etc, etc)??
I try to walk 5 times a week, but it doesn't always work out.

Do you do daily cardio?  How much (30 mins, 60 mins, etc)?
Well I walk fast so I guess it's cardio?

Do you lift weights? How often (1x week, 3x week, etc)??
I wish, I know it would be good for me. Sometimes I start, do it for a few times and then stop for a couple of months.

How much water do you drink (pure water, not tea, drinks, etc)?
I drink water when I'm thirsty but there is no need to measure. My urine is pale indicating my intake is fine.

Do you journal your food intake and workout?
I don't because I don't want how I eat to be all consuming, instead I just want to eat normally as part of a lifestyle. I have done so in the past and didn't find it really helped me.

Interesting......just goes to show there is no hard and fast way to do it....just do what works best as an individual.

I eat about 1500 calories a day - usually about 100 grams of protein, 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetables, 25-40 grams of fiber, and take daily calcium citrate, multivitamin, and vitamin D3 supplements.  I usually drink about 6 cups of pure water a day, plus about another 4 cups of fresh brewed iced tea with Equal.  I journal my food and exercise.  I walk five days a week (anywhere from five to eight miles), but I really need to get back to the gym.  I can't seem to get any more weight off right now, but my health is great.  My cholesterol dropped from about 230 to 140 a few months after I changed my eating habits.

Original goal: lose 53 lbs.  New goal: lose 68-78 lbs total.

Congratulations!  20 lbs is AWESOME!!!!  Keep up the great work.  Slow and steady wins the race (that's what my mom always told me....)

Don't get discouraged, you can do it.....before you know it you'll be at your goal.

Take care!

*hanging ma head in shame*

Ruthie, I didn't do any of that.  I ate right, exercised like a Trojan and tried my best to drink ALL of tha****er.  For me, getting my hormones back in order was the most important thing and I kept track of everything for that.  Still do.

I know some people are anal about keeping track of every little detail, I'm just not one of them.  I say whatever keeps you on your wagon, go with it!
