Getting close to goal
This week actually ended up being a good week, my weight has been so up and down this week I relaly expected a gain if anything and I actually ended up losing 1.4 pounds so I was very pleased with those results. I weighed in this morning at 176.4 making me just 26.4 pounds away from my goal I'm so excited about that, I know it's going to take a bit of time to get there since my weight loss has slowed down so much but it's still so very motivating to see how close I am getting to my goal. I know there probably is not absolute answer but I have a question and just a good guess would be great, right now I'm in a size 14 jeans when I loose another 26.4 pounds roughly how many sizes would you think that should take me down 1 or 2? I have always heard in general you can expect to loose 1 size for every 10 pounds and I know sometimes this is not true at all for a lot of people and for some people it is, for me in general it seems true but not always so I'm really wondering what size I'll end up when I loose hte last 26 pounds.

Wow Johnita, you are getting close - it must be exciting and frustrating at the same time - you want to be there already and yet it's scary. That's they way I think I'm going to feel as I get close.
I don't know what size you will eventually be, and I've been wondering myself how my sizes will change as I get closer to 200 pounds and less. I know I just bought two pairs of pants at TJ Maxx last month and they fit closely, tight but not tooooo tight. Well a month later now I can't wear them as they are baggy and just too big. I lost about 10 pounds.
I think maybe it's best to ask this on the main board as more people there have experienced this kind of loss.

Skylar thanks, which board should I ask it on? I keep wondering what size I will end up at. Of course with a lot of clothes it seems everything is different as to what size I wear lol.
Instinct the way I lost the weight was calorie counting, I allow myself between 1200 and 1300 calories a day I personally do not restrict any food, if I want a cookie I have a cookie the difference now to the past is I stop at 1 or 2 not the whole bag. If I want chips I also have those but again only 1 serving not the bag. For me I had to make a lifestyle change and I know it's not realistic for myself to think I"ll never have chips or a cookie again so I decided I needed to allow myself these foods and get used to having them in moderation. The only thing I completely cut out of my diet was diet soda (I only drink water now and I know I'm ok to keep this up), and also eating out, I've only ate out maybe 3 or 4 times since I started my new lifestyle this is something I plan to add back into my diet though because it's also not realistic to think I"ll never eat out again. I just need to learn to make good choices when I do go out to eat.
Also I believe exercise has been a key to my success, I go to curves 3 - 5 days a week, and I use the wii fit 7 days a week, I also for a while was using the wii active it has a 30 day challenge program and you can do it on easy medium and hard, I have went through 90 days worth doing 30 on each level then went back and done a 30 on easy since then I kind of got bored with it and haven't done it in about a week or so. Every now and then I also add in some DDR (dance dance revolution) this really works out your legs and for me it's so much fun I don't realize I'm exrecising. I am really wanting to add hiking to my workout but I haven't so far but I think I may since the weather is cooling down.

Judging from your BMI, I think we're the same height, 5'5". I think 26lbs should be good for another 2, maybe approaching 3 sizes. I do think in the somewhat lower sizes 10lbs is the difference in one size, but for bigger sizes, the difference is more than that. Makes sense - a 10lb change will be much more dramatic on a size 12 than a size 22.
Original goal: lose 53 lbs. New goal: lose 68-78 lbs total.
