I can't seem to stay on track with this 1300 calorie diet  I start off with a shake for breakfast and lunch and do a dinner but by the time I get home I'm starving and that's when i screw up. I guess while I'm at work I'm so busy I kinda ignore the pangs and they go away, because i cant eat while I have a customer right. lol Anyways I'm looking for suggestions maybe I'm doing this thing wrong maybe i should do more calories and lower myself to 1300. Maybe maybe maybe I'm just rambling off, but i cant get a good solid week in i get 3-days and then wham I'm back to square one now this is frustrating.  Any suggestions will do.

Well I know I couldn't stick to your diet so I don't know how you do - you definitely are starving and clearly it's not a happy situation that you can keep doing for any length of time. This is the type of diet that if you do lose weight, you'll regain it quickly when you stop because you'll go back to how you eat. You need to change your lifestyle to something that you will continue to do the rest of your life.

Why not try what I'm doing - I eat only whole foods, no refined food and I'm never hungry, I don't measure or weigh my food, I never count calories and I eat until I'm satisfied and if I'm hungry later, I eat more. I don't worry if my food is too at or too anything. I don't worry about proteins, carbohydrates or anything else. I also don't take any supplements except B12. I'm losing weight almost at the rate I would have if I had weight loss surgery.

If I were you I would consider dropping the shakes and adding real food of the same number of calories, like a cup of oatmeal with raisins and Splenda in the morning with skim milk, instead of the breakfast shake, and a salad with protein for lunch. Plan out some snacks in there, too. 1300 calories may not be enough food for you to live on a daily basis without severe hunger pangs that will cause desperation and binge overeating in response. It's very frustrating to yo-yo, and it is also difficult to stick to a diet when you may not be seeing instant results.

One of the reasons people who have had weight loss surgery can drop weight so dramatically is that our sense of hunger is often gone for a year or so after surgery. Reverting to any old habits, especially in the beginning, leads to vomiting, pain, or dumping--all extremely unpleasant. Feeling full on very little and fear of damaging our pouch are the two biggest reasons why WLS patients can lose so much weight so quickly.

A normal person who is losing weight solely through a commitment to changing their approach to food, and their eating and exercise habits, has to overcome a huge barrier to smaller portions and reduced calories--HUNGER. It takes time for the stomach to stretch, and time for it to shrink. In between, if your stomach is not full, it will growl and you will be hungry. Filling it with something that is low calorie but high volume, like salad or raw fruits, is a good way to feel full. Eating smaller meals more frequently is also a good way.

Most of all, remember how long it took to gain the weight, and give yourself a break! Rome wasn't built in a day! Stay motivated, keep your chin up, and if I were you I would abandon the Slimfast and eat real food. Good luck and all the best!

Well I never did the shake thing BUT I did do VERY low calorie. :] I had a script from the doc that helped my appetite but if those hunger pangs were getting me and I would be STARVING by the time  icame home from work. Water, water, water water. Drink LOTS of it. It will fill you up until you have your dinner. Or Maybe bring some water based veggies or frui****ermelon, cucumber...something just to get you by. :] Good luck and keep at it. If this diet doesnt work for you try something else sooner or later you will find something that works for you :]

I don't think I'd be able to stick to your diet myself, I can't do the shakes and not have food, for me it wouldn't work well.  I think the suggestion about possibly substituting your shakes with some filling foods I think would be a very good idea. I think it may would help your hunger some.  I find now after almost 6 months of my new lifestyle I get full on really small amounts of food but it didn't happen overnight it took quite a bit of time but I know I couldn't have lasted this long if I was only having one actual meal a day and the other 2 meals were only shakes, I'd be way too hungry even if the calories were the same.

Well, I'm on the Shake diet through a medical weight loss program. There three phases and the first phase is no food, just shakes. Eventually, they will start encorporating food. I've been on the all shakes stuff for about a month. It has not been easy, but the shakes eliminate the wrong choices we could make. I don't think I could do it forever .

Couple of things....

Depending on how much you currently weigh, how tall you are, and how much you exercise 1,300 calories might be way to low for you.  If that is the case you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Having 3 meals and 2-3 snacks is the healthiest way to lose weight.

Perhaps you need to change the way your using this plan.  If you are committed to using shakes as meal replacements twice daily you should include a bowl of salad with that lunch shake.  BUT, I'd switch things up.....how about a shake for Breakfast, a good/well balanced healthy meal for lunch (including protein, veg and fruit), and then another shake with a some veg/salad for Dinner.  That way you don't go for such a long time without enough nutrition to keep your body going.

Lastly, are you exercising?  Are you doing enough (both duration and intensity)??
If you have specific questions or want to discuss further feel free to send me a PM....
Best wishes

I take energizer tea from True essentials and the appetite supressant and I have lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks.  I do take a shake in the AM and salad at lunch and regular dinner no pop no diet sugar or diet pop only stevia and honey for sweeteners.  and I drink 8 oz of water with my appetite suppressant 3 times a day.   Go to true essentials at my web site and order if you like add fhtmus.com/elia_saenz  to the search bar and go a head and shop their products are awesome.
Good luck
