Mother of all stalls!!!
I was 275lbs at my heaviest last February. I got down to 242lbs by the middle of June. Since June, I have bounced from 242 to 249 but can't seem to make any progress. I have been training for and participating in triathlons all summer so I know I'm getting enough exercise. My eating habits haven't really changed much, so what gives?! Any suggestions as to what I can do to get it going again? I still have 40+ pounds to go to reach my goal.
Any ideas?
BTW, am I the only guy on this board? I'm new here and from looking at all the posts, I was wondering if this is a "women only" forum.

At surgery I was at 263....had a sleeve....immediately lost 19 pounds in the first week after surgery....then stalled for 2 weeks. Lost another 6-10 over 3 weeks....stalled for a week or so and am now down to 226. Can't explain why you stall but it happens. I think I actually gained a pound or two once in that stalled period.
Muscle is heavier that fat and if you have regained it since your surgery that might account for it. As an athele you know about sodium in drinks...watch that. I found a great tasting flavored water from Walgren named Pure American.....better than Crystal lite type drinks.
My wife says the stalling is due to hornone inbalances.....not sure but its a thought...not sure what they'd do for that anyway.
keep focused. Steve

Definitely not a woman's forum - Boys are welcome
Re: your stall. Have you tried upping your protein or changing up your exercise regime? Sometimes your body can get so accustom to the same deal every day that it stops responding. Are you doing too much weight lifting? Think you're building muscle mass instead of losing weight?
Maybe you should do a few days of low carbs, or liquid diet just to shock yourself out of the slump? Just a suggestion.
Best of luck!!

I too agree with Janina. After losing 45 lbs pretty slowly but consistently, I got stuck for 4 weeks without moving an ounce. Nothing changed in my diet routine: I keep a food journal religiously.
Then after that 28 day stall I GAINED 2 pounds.
After a massive hissy fit and fantasies of going postal, I was on my way to BK to eat everything on their menu. The one normal brain cell left made me call my doc. She suggested three days of high protein, low carb liquids, and a thyroid check. Thyroid was a bit low, meds were adjusted, and after the third liquid protein day 3 lbs were gone. Thank God: I was spared a stay in the local asylum. Good luck!!
