Oh Pregnancy and weight

As far as the eating goes....I'm not one to preach. Try to make healthy choices with a "treat" now and then. It's hard....whole different mentality takes over with those hormones, I swear!!
Mmm, you have made me want chili!!
Just remember that everything you eat doesn't have to be in quantities of two!!haha I know i had a blast eating with my first pregancy. I gained at least 70 pounds with him. Of course hardly none of it came off too! So be careful! I have mixed feelings about eating with pregnancy, especially your first. I know you still should eat good foods, etc.. But your first one is special yanno? I think every one likes to go a little overboard with thier first. Just maybe downsize your special treats, and only occasional. But I know it's rough, it's a happy time!! :)
I know my daughter already is making it as an excuse and she's only two months. I can just see how much weight she is going to gain if she isn't careful. Some of those cravings can get pretty intense sometimes.
You just got to remember being pregnant isn't an excuse not to do anything. I'm also finding this out with my daughter. She's acting like it's an illness!!lol Got to smack her into shape here soon. Give her a reality check that she will gain more if she isn't careful! (*smack is a gesture of course. :) hehe)
I hope you have fun with this pregnancy. Okay, I'm rambling..lol Think I'm trying to get out of housework.haha
Be healthy!!
You are consuming at least 2,590 calories each day to maintain your weight at 259. Your fetus only requires an additional 300 calories per day for nourishment, which means that you do not necessarily have to gain weight to be healthy. You can initiate moderate daily exercise at your stage of pregnancy (walking is great!) and track your calories.
If you eat 2100 calories per day you will eat plenty for yourself and your baby and may maintain your current weight or even lose weight as your pregnancy progresses. This is not the same as unhealthy, drastic dieting during pregnancy. The risks associated with morbid obesity during pregnancy and childbirth are horrendous and you want to avoid them at all costs. Ask your physician to be blunt with you--he will give you the facts.
I got some news yesterday that about killed me but I am calm and understanding now :]
I had the AFP Screening test or known as the Triple Screen or Quad Screen tests. They came back low giving me a 1/186 chance of baby with Downs. I have the option of an Amniocentesis. But I declined as of now. There is a high rate of 90% False Positives. And my chance of having a Downs baby is less than 1%. It doesnt run on either side of the families. So we are going to have the Level 2 Ultrasound in October. Which will tell me what I am having and see if there is anything wrong. :] I'm not worried. Either way I will love the little peanut :]
I read up on this all day yesterday. Most women decline having the screening due to the stress when mostly your baby comes out healthy. So yea. :]
I know it's hard not to stress but I think it's very common to get these false positives with that test.

Hunnybuns, I totally understand your stress. You were so unhappy with yourself for SO long, and you finally reached a point where you could feel like you're acceptable to yourself, and then the peanut comes and here you go again...
The only thing I can say is to try to counteract that stress by saying "It's only temporary. It's only temporary." You got the weight off before and yes it was hard, but you can do it again.
You've got a munchkin growing inside you - you need to do what's best for the munchkin and losing weight is not the answer for that.
What about those exercise DVD's for pregnant women? Ever look into those? Just a suggestion.
Love ya!!
Fast food is very dangerous at this point, being so full of sodium. If you did nothing else, curb that one area - do NOT go out to eat more than like 1x monthly - if at all!!!!
Salty foods will add to the bloat - so that is the number one thing to avoid! Try to buy fresh fruit, celery sticks, cucumbers to munch on between meals - eat it even if they don't sound good, just to fill the hungry hole you may have here and there!
Make sure to have a salad with very leafy greens with lunch and supper - trust me - the nutrients in the green will really help you fight cravings. If those types of foods are easier to eat cooked, okay...do it: steamed spinach, kale, add to soups even!
Just walk, go swim...enjoy this time of your life above all.
Bottom line: avoid fast food totally if you do nothing else!
