Summers over folks...how was yours?

Well I set out to do exactly what I thought I would do, and that is NOTHING!! The past few weeks as it's been getting chillier and chillier (it was 45 right now) I've realized it's time to turn my heat on and realize my summer is over!   As of my weight..I knew I wouldn't lose this summer and I didn't.  In fact, I'm scared to death of getting back on the scale.  I've been half heartedly into losing, but the other half seems to have won the battle thus far.  Like a few others, I just can't get a grip and I am not sure exactly why I'm having such a hard time starting!!

A month or so ago I got even more news.  My daughter who moved out in the beginning of June just found out she is pregnant.  So it looks like I'm going to be a grandma in April!  One other reason why I need to lose weight now.  So I can keep up with the lil guy!  She has moved back into the house and in full fledge puking mode...sorry guys.haha, and happy as a lark at age 18 and pregnant.  I cried and cried when I found out, but theres nothing I can do about it now so might as be happy and enjoy the upcoming bundle.    So I told my husband I would like to make the babies due date as a goal mark for myself.  I want to lose so much (haven't figured it out yet) by the time he's born.  Now I just got to figure out wha tI'm doing and why I can't seem to grasp a diet or new way of eating anymore!!!!!  It really is getting quite ridiculous.  I use to at least diet for three weeks..haha.  Now I can't even seem to go one day without getting off of it!  What is up with that??

HEY GRANDMA!!!  We may not always be happy about young'uns getting pregnant because of their cir****tances, but it all just blends into the woodwork once you hold that baby.  Congratulations!

It sounds like your inner child is winning the battle of "what she wants when she wants it"!  It took me YEARS to get mine to shut the hell up and realize that she wasn't going to die if she didn't have pie, because she seriously thought she would.  Sounds to me like you have just grown weary of fighting with her and let her have her way...I call it battle fatigue.

Holly, "DON'T LET THE LITTLE BRAT WIN!!!"

Just remember, you have pictures that need to be taken of the first time you hold your new grandchild and you'll want to look good for those, no?  Go down deep, search your soul, and find the strength it will take for you to get back in the fight!  Never give up even if you have a few bad days, shake it off and just keep going.  This is not about doing things perfectly, this is about doing no matter what happens.

How was my summer?  I'm too tired to type that much.  To say it was busy is an under statement but things are getting back to normal now so hopefully I'll find time to relax for a minute or two.

I Love Autumn, I can't wait to decorate the porch!

Battle fatigue....that is what I have! :)  How wonder I'm so tired all the time.  I'm in constant battle mode and always losing!hehe  That pretty much sums it up for me.

I know you are right, I just got to find my inner strength, it's got to be some where.  I'm a searching, I'm a searching!

One would think that not breathing well,  chest always hurting,  and not being able to do things people your own age can do, would be sufficient enough evidence!

It's so easy to ignore those ailments when you have a "comfy friend" at hand!  Foods so evil!

Congratulations - how exciting - to become a grandma and if I read you correctly, it's going to be a little grandson - Whooo hooo, they are so cute to cuddle when they are born. Yes, the deed is done and in April you will be thrilled to be holding your grandchild who deserves to be held and loved and well taken care of and even spoiled by grandma.

We all know the feeling of having an important reason to lose weight, and we keep starting diets and somehow never stay on them longer than the next meal. I wish I knew the secret so I could scream it out to everyone. I hope you can keep trying till you hit the magic.

Thanks Sylar, and when you find out that magic solution, I better be one of the first ones ya tell! :)

Nope, not a boy, or a girl, yet.ha  She's only two months pregnant, got a while before we find out what it is.  I'm a rootin' for a boy though!! Boys are so much easier in my books!

My summer was a complete waste of effort.  I fell off the wagon, got back on for no results, and now I'm coasting at a steady maintanence pace, even though I'm struggling.

F*ck my life...

Congrats on the grand baby.  You get yourself into good shape for him/her!!

Hang in there Janina.  It's so easy to say screw it and don't fix anything, isn't it.  It's so much easier to let our other half win and be satisfied with that hamburger.  Our weight came on easily, but it's a fricken pain in the ass taking off!!  We can't give up Janina.  I keep telling myself that over and over again.  Like you so far it hasn't sunk in.  But you know what, maintaining your weight isn't that bad.  If i remember correctly it takes several months for your weight to stabilize there.  So maintaining might not be what ya want, but it's better than if you gained more.  I know I have to keep an eye on the scale every day and watch what I eat to an extent just to maintain other wise I gain FAST.  I have a feeling you are the same way.  Sure you are only 30, but look what you have done to it.  It has taken a toll.  It's going to rebel!  So I say hang onto that maintenance with dear life, until it realizes it's not going up any more!

This just made me think of ......take two steps forward, one step backward, two steps forward, one step backward.  You will eventually get there!

OMG it is in the water BAD!!  Not only is my kid pregnant, but two of my nieces are too!  That beats a record for us, three immediate family members pregnant together, IN the same town!  But it will be fun, and bring life back to our holidays! lol  My nine year old is our youngest of the family, so it's been a while since we have had a baby in the family.

This sounds like it has been YOUR summer!  Preganant, getting engaged, AND getting  a house!!  Man girl, when you rock it, you ROCK it!!haha  I bet you are just thrilled, I'm so happy for you.

Can't believe summer's over....ours just started a couple of weeks ago here.  We had a cold and rainy July and have just started enjoying the gorgeous weather....still in the 70's and sunny and beautiful.  Fall is my favorite time of year too!!

Been remodeling the kitchen/family room and right now left with only my sink (for two more days and then that's gone too), 6" of counter space and my microwave on sawhorses.  Cooking has been challenging!!  Been eating out a LOT the last couple of weeks and it shows.

Have decided to go ahead with a total knee replacement after the holidays and need to get this weight off.  I leave on vacation (NJ shore, girls only...leave the guys at home) this weekend and plan on getting started when I return.  Thanks to some of Mary's tough love, it has added to my determination.  I know what I need to do...fight this addiction with both barrels.  Need to get back to my exercising too.  Have printed out the Y's schedule for the fall and chosen classes (water aerobics and a Curves/like gym) that fit into my schedule.  Now all I gotta do is get there!!!!

I'm psyched to start cooking in my new kitchen when it's done.  Both Bill and I need to start eating healthy (he's fighting weight gain from Prednisone) and we are determined to do it together.  Gonna get some good soup recipes as standbys....find they really keep me satisfied.

A good goal, Holly....get healthy for that grandbaby!!  VERY BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE....ENJOY!!
