How is Everybody??
I miss you guys!! Participation on this forum has defintely gone down the crapper. We need more support going on. I feel the need to ramble on just for the sake of having a new thread posted on this board. Here I go:
I walked for 30 minutes outside on dirt/sand trails yesterday and the day before and my shins are killing me!!! My hip kinda hurts too. I feel like I'm getting old but I'm only 30!! Maybe I am old enough to hurt like this. Maybe I'm just *that* out of shape. Probably the latter.
Yesterday, my diet went like this:
B: 8:30 - 1 Egg Sandwich (260 cal)
S: 12pm - 2 oz Reduced fat Cheddar (100 cal)
L: 1pm - 1 1/2 cup Chicken & broccoli, no oil (300 cal)
S: 4:45 - 3 cups loosely packed Cantaloupe (200 cal)
S: 7pm - 5 Social Tea cookies (100 cal)
1 Banana (95 cal)
D: 7:30 - 3 oz grilled chicken (120 cal)
1 cup pasta in low fat sauce (300 cal)
S: 8:30 - Fiber Plus bar (120 cal)
Total: 1595
At dinner time, I didn't have any veggies and some of you guys mentioned that I need to bump that up. How do you think I should do that? Cut down on the pasta and add a small salad?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I don't count calories so I am not sure how many I am eating but I am losing weight so I don't care. I can't wait to go back to the doctor next month 20+lbs lighter. Praise the Lord!!

Glad to hear you're adding the walking....think you will see a big difference upping your activity level and in the way you feel too. Sadly, I haven't been doing my water aerobics all summer and need to actively get back in the game. I have decided to proceed with a total knee replacement after the first of the year and really need to get serious about getting in the best shape possible for that between now and then.
I'm up about 10lb from where I was last year at this time and have just been half heartedly playing around with different WOE's. I know for my insulin resistance I need to do some form of low carb, but know I won't be successful with Atkins....too restrictive for me. Still searching for the right formula.
I think more veggies is good advice for all of us. How about some great pasta dishes with lots of veggies incorporated? There's lots of those recipes out there and if you go heavy on the veggies and light on the pasta, you get the best of both worlds. I have spaghetti squash ready to be picked in my garden and gonna incorporate a lot of that into my recipes. I love spaghetti squa****'s great by itself with sauce over it like regular spaghetti. Just stick a fork in one in a couple of places and do in your microwave until you can stick a fork in easily (10 minutes, turn over and then another 10 minutes?), cut in half and remove seeds with spoon; take a fork and shred it out of the shell. I've got to research some more good recipes and will share them.
Keep up the good work, Janina!!
