I don't know how many of you have struggled with calorie counting, but I am! I can go one day with 1100 cal to another day of 2400 cal and then extremly blow the day at embarrassingly high caloric intake that I don't even want to mention how much.

Does anyone know what one should be consuming in the hopes of losing weight?

Hello

I found this lovely calorie calculator:
http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.htm

To lose weight, you need to knock your calories 500 below your margin to maintain.

Best of luck!!!

I agree with Neena that you need to subtract 500 calories from the maintainance total intake to lose rate at healthy rate.
