No more sleep apnea

I've been using a C-PAP machine for the last two years faithfully and frankly I loved the good night sleeps I got with the machine, I have dragged this machine all over the world even though the darn thing takes up 1/3 of my suitcase because I was scared to die in my sleep from sleep apnea.
Monday I was told I no longer have sleep apnea and I no longer have to use the machine. I have to call up the rental place to return it. I have to say it's weird but I miss it and I'm having trouble getting used to my old routine of sleeping without any mask on. But I'm thrilled too because it shows more progress towards better health which is my main goal, with weight loss my secondary goal.
Poor DH, he still has to use his machine, but he's getting his pressure cut in half (he had very bad sleep apnea whereas mine was mild) which means he can use a the newer nasal pillow mask which is more comfortable - so he still has good news.

My pressure was 11 and it was very comfortable but DH's was 23 - which is wind tunnel pressure. Now his is will be changed to 13.
I must say that I miss my machine - I'm sleeping fine without it - no snoring, but I miss the whole routine of it, even then noise - LOL I must be nuts.
BTW, if anyone here snores loudly or falls asleep in front of the tv in the evening - you really should get tested for sleep apnea - it can save your live and you will feel so much better when you have agood night's sleep - and it makes dieting easier.

You know I actually worry that if I lose more weight (and I'm planning to) that I may not need my machine. It's a comfort knowing this little machine is keeping my airway open and allowing me to get quality sleep. I have a feeling though that I will always have OSA due to my physiology.
It's not weird at all to say you miss your machine, I understand.
Good advice Skylar...people definitely get checked if you have symptoms she describes. It can save your life and even others as those with untreated sleep apnea are at great risk of falling asleep at the wheel.
