Summer time...easier or harder??

I'm sure your schedule has changed with the kids being out of school and that always makes it difficult to stay on a diet. Do you plan your meals ahead? I normally don't because I'm too lazy but when I do I find it helps to keep you on the wagon. Maybe the kids can help you plan and cook the meal?

My kids plan and cook?ha Me, plan and cook?ha Nah, I cook every night..that is until summer hits. Now it seems like we are having tons of "free nights". I am cooking tonight though! whoo First time in a while, think we haven't had any home made meals in about two weeks!
As for the planning, I hate planning. I don't believe in planning anything.lol I am one that doesn't like to live by a plan or schedule! :) My moods change too much to know what I want or what I'm doing to allow it. Plus I never know what I want to eat for dinner until that day! lol Good idea though, just not for this girl.
Come to think about it, I've even turned dates and events down because I don't plan. Just call me a little birdy that goes minute by minute.lol

I guess the summer is harder is for me because I tend to cook less when it's very hot. I don't eat fast food or more frozen meals but I'll eat A LOT of fruit! Fruit is very good but it does have a lot of sugar so having (or wanting to have) 7 servings of fruit is a bit too much.......well for my body/metabalism it's too much. It is also the only time I have to fight the urge to have some ice cream. I don't even bring it in the house otherwise I'd be tempted by it every night.
I LOVE TO COOK!!!!!! But when it's so hot I don't like to stand over a hot oven or stove.
I find it easier in the summer with all the available, cheaper fruits and veges...No, I don't like to cook when its SO hot, ugh....It was 108 here, the next day 104, and now in the high 90s...
Knowing my extreme dislike of cooking in hot weather, I have to plan ahead, marinate chicken/meat overnite, defrost things ahead of time ect... My DH happily does outdoor grilling. When he isn't home for dinner, I have stocked up on "heathy" microwaveable dinners for DD and I, this stops me from running to a fast food joint.
I also make sure there are "healthy" type sncaks on hand so I don't have to go to a store in mid day heat...So ya, planning ahead may be a drag, but it really does help with wt. loss...
Take care, enjoy your 2 months of heaven! lol...
I think food temptation is all seasons! However, for me, summer is easier to eat more veggies & fresh fruits most days, thereby decreasing calories. Not that i lose weight, mind you! i think that is b/c summer is when i do go on vacation - and me on "no schedule" is very dangerous for food plans.
I just got back from almost a week in Vegas. Not getting near a scale for a few days - and while I was not insane with eating, i am sure i did not lose an ounce.
I perceive that I am less hungry in the summer. When I was younger - up to age 40ish - I would always lose about 10# in summer. No more.
