Welcome Glad you are here! i thought my last option was surgery as well, but I was wrong, you can do this this without surgery! one of the best things I can share with you is to get your belief system in place and then LIVE it out, a good friend of mine shared this with me and I still gain encouragement from it, she has a plaque hanging in her home that simply states "she believed she could, so she did" simple message but a powerful one! I believe weight loss happens in your mind first, once you wrap your head around the fact that YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS, PERIOD! you will, not that you wont hit bumps along the road, but once you make up your mind thats it! dont stop, get educated and get moving, and you WILL succeed! best of luck to you and look forward to seeing your transformation on this great journey! please feel free to see my page and check out my personal journey!

Hi!
Congratulations on what you have done so far!  That is a big achievement!  I am also working on losing over 100lbs. without surgery.  What got me motivated was that my doctor said I would qualify for surgery.  I have never thought of myself as that big, but it was time to face reality.  So it's been a little over a month since I started and I have lost 25 lbs. so far.  I put myself on a 1300 calorie a day limit, along with walking, jogging and pilates.  I'm not following a diet written by someone else, I'm just doing my own thing with the knowledge I have about nutrition.  I would be glad to offer any support and guidence that I can, and I could use some myself too!

I started at 252lbs.  I am 228 now and my goal is also 150 by January.

Congratulations on your progress and also your daughters'.  Losing nearly 60 pounds in six months is ambitions but do-able.  If you haven't done so already, you will need to start an exercise program.  One thing I learned after years of dieting, the less you have to lose the harder it gets.  They always talk about that last 10 pounds, well for me it was like that last 25 pounds was really, really difficult.  And the only way I was able to do it was over a long period of time, very slowly and with lots of exercise.  Of course, the real problem is keeping the weight off once you reach goal.  It's a whole lifestyle change and you have to be really focused and dedicated.  Sounds like you're off to  a great start.  I wish you the best.  Donna

Welcome! Congrats on your losses so far. It sounds like you are doing well.  The only way you can fall down is if you stop trying. After many years of losing and gaining, I finally figured out that if I had never stopped trying the first time (when it got hard) then I would not have gained all the way up to 450. This time through I promised myself I wouldn't quit, no matter what. Even if it takes me 10+ years or even the rest of my life to lose the weight, I'm going to keep trying.

Good luck to you!

I lost my weight with Weight Watcher's & Zumba. I've lost 302 lbs. You can visit my weight loss website at www.freewebs.com/infectiouslaughter
I'll be in the Jan. 2012 issue of People Magazine's "Half Their Weight" issue!!

Hi there...sounds like you & DD are truly helping each other! Great! Just stick with it.

I think that it is possible to drop another 50# in six months, but please don't be discouraged to realize like many of us that the closer to goal, the slower the loss.

I would love to be wrong about this - maybe your experience will show otherwise I just don't want you to be thinking that somehow you failed. You are already very sucessful!!!  wow!
