Hello everyone!
Like I said in the subject I am new... sorta. Back in December-February I was trying and working very hard to be approved for the DS weight loss surgery. I thought I was SOOO close to being approved when I was thrown a curve ball in mid february. My husbands company was too small for Anthem to give them the option to offere weight loss surgery to be covered. According to his HR dept (who thought the policy wasnt right) Anthem took it away a year ago for companies who employed under 200 people... at least that was the policy for Ohio. So.. I was devistated and walked away from the OH DS board because it hurt too much... I couldn't even just visit OH anymore. I started trying to lose the weight on my own.. I went from 275lbs to 265lbs in about a month.. felt pretty good!
Well God had a reason for it all because alittle over a month after my denial I found out I was pregnant again with my 2nd child! My son just turned One this month and my new baby is due December 6th. I am 16 weeks pregnant now. I am back here because during this pregnancy, unlike my pregnancy with my son, I want to get a few more lbs off (healthy of course!) and maintain through my pregnancy! So far, in the 16 weeks, I have actually lost a few lbs.. I range between 263-262lbs. I really don't fluxuate more than that.. sometimes I get up to 265lb again... but it never lasts long. I am looking to find support while I am on this journey. .I joined a forum on babyfit.com thats about overweight and wanting to lose weight while pregnant. However its not very active and I need alittle more support.
Anyway, its nice to meet you all! I am sure we can do it!

Welcome! and Congratulations on your little one on the way and your baby turing 1!! you are gonna be a busy momma! busier I should say! I have three kids my youngest is 2, my oldest is almost 10, I gained very little weight with all three of my pregnancies, seemed to be the only time in my life when I did not gain weight easily? go figure! my first pregnancy with my son I gained 19 pounds, my second pregnancy with my Daughter I gained 14 pounds and my last pregnancy with my daughter I gained 12 pounds! as long as you are eating healthy and nourishing your body for you and your baby I see nothing wrong with your body releasing fat while pregnant, just remember that hormones play a huge part in weight loss and gain and when we are pregnant out hormones are all over the place! if you dont lose a lot while pregnant you will have plenty of time to lose it after the baby is born! and you are right that GOD has a plan for you, his plan is always perfect! good luck and best wishes on your Healthy pregnancy!

Thank you so much! Yes I talked to my obgyn about my concerms about my weight.. i think I gained about 80lbs or so with my son and I told her just how concerned I was about getting much larger. She said that you can never predict what a womans body is going to do while its pregnant... she said I can do steps to try to control and maybe lose some weight, but in the end its going to do whatever it feels like doing! Which, to hear a doctor admit that its not always in your hands... that made me feel better about the whole situation. But its been a great pregnancy so far! I havent even been active because I blew my back out early and I had spasms until just recently it started to feel better... took 5 weeks (ugh!). So now with my husband I am adding walking every day. We will see how it all works! :) The most important thing is having a healthy beautiful baby.. but losing a few would be a nice added benefit! :)
Thanks again for the support!

Hi Jennifer and welcome. It's funny how sometimes we get these curve balls thrown at us that turn out to be wonderful. You must be so excited about having another baby. And as a bonus it seems like you found a wonderful Dr who can help you grow a healthy baby.
It's also a good time for you to look at what you're eating both for you and the baby. LOL if that saying was true, you are what you eat, my first daughter would have been a fudgesicle (although I did eat healthy in addition to my fudgesicle, chocolate milk obsession).
Let us know what we can do to help you.
