Do you do anything special to celebrate your weightloss as you lose?

Did you feel like you were buying clothes specifically as a reward - when I need something I buy it because I need it and not as a reward. I guess the leather jacket would be a reward, but not pants and underwear.

That must have been fun taking this group to Italy - especially since you knew them and you all lost all that weight.

More than just clothes, these were special clothes - things that I could not wear when I was heavier.  Fancy bras and panties, fitted leather jacket and generally sexier clothing.  Not stuff like gym shoes and socks - that wouldn't be much of an incentive.

The girls were a whole lot of laughs in Italy - and everyone ate great food . . .but there was 10 to 15 miles a day of walking so no one gained - so it was a great trip for everyone.

I understand now - special things that you could fit into previously. I can't wait till I can buy nicer, sexier more stylish clothes. It's so hard when you're plus sized.

Funny you posted this, because I have been thinking about this all night long since I read about Chris' contest at his work.  It just amazes me on how an incentive or reward helps us out.

I personally have had great luck with incentives in the past.  I have trouble "get going" on plan, so an incentive helps me focus more.  If it's just a reward, I never seem to make it happen.

I've been thinking about it, and I already know what my next incentive will be.  With all the stress and pain I've been in lately I've ballooned to my highest weight.  I am broke at the moment, but I really want to buy a ticket for me to go some where.  Not only is this a ticket, but it's an incentive for me to lose the weight.  I'm terrified I won't fit into the seats now.  When I was 30 pounds less than what I am now, I had trouble buckling up.  So an already paid plane ticket with my name on it would not only be a reward for me once I lose my weight, but a motive to make me lose the weight!!  I have always worked this way, I have to have some kind of incentive like this to make it work for me.  Once I start losing, then I"m good to go.  Nothing like knowing your melting away! :)

Great idea!!  Why don't you buy a ticket to NY and come visit me?

Hehe, little do you know New York is on my top five of places to go here in the U.S.  :)

Well now, the prices for air line tickets are pretty reasonable right now and you have to go to New York. Can we encourage you to buy that ticket and get started on two of your goals - 1) lose weight and 2) see NYC?

When I was doing WW, I would buy myself flowers every week I had a loss.  Not expensive ones, just $5-10 from the local grocery store.  I LOVE flowers and seeing them all week reminded me of my loss and good efforts.

What a nice idea.  I'm going to share this at my support group tomorrow night.  Thanks!

How neat you have a support group.  Is it like OA or from WLS or another one if you don't mind me asking.  I would love to find one close to me, just not sure how much is out there besides OA.
