Exercize this week:

Several years back, when I weighed 297 pounds, my husband & I joined Bally's.  Even though we truly couldn't afford it, we paid to get a personal trainer, who put us through a regimen of treadmill, elliptical, & stationary bicycle walking & riding, situps (working up to 80 at a time), and different weights to lift with different parts of our bodies.  We found it was the best workouts we've ever had, because the personal trainer was the best they had at that Bally's (she was Stefanie), and she inspired us to do things that we never would have done on our own!  We finally couldn't afford it any more, but I remember losing 12 inches all over my body after a few weeks!  Unfortunately, I didn't lose a thing on the scale, and I had a hard time sticking to their diet.

I know there are other types of losing besides weight on a scale, but I found that so discouraging at the time, that I finally quit, out of frustration.  I complained that even though I was building muscle, I hated the idea of weighing so much.  Oh well!  Maybe some day, when we can both afford it, we'll join Bally's again and get another personal trainer to help us.  I was not as motivated to do nearly as much when we went there to exercise without her.  She would tell us things like "you're awesome", etc.  This praise made me try much harder than I would have by myself.

I weigh 261.5 pounds now, thanks to slow weight loss since that time, and joining OA, as well.  While I'm grateful to weigh so much less, I still miss the workout we used to get, and that feeling of being more fit and accomplished that I lack now.  I just walk for exercise, now, when I can.  I commend you all for following such wonderful exercise regimens.

Thursday......
So I was not able to wake up early enough to do a bike ride this morning.  I live in FL (west coast) and we are having a heat wave....at 8am it was already 86 degrees....It will go above 90 today and will feel like 105!!!!!!

BUT......

I'm proud that I pushed myself to get on the treadmill and did 45 mins....even my knees were sweating!!!

I hope to wake up by 6am so I can be outside by 6:30 or 7am the latest and get at least a 60 min ride....

Clocked up 15 miles today in a few seconds over 60 mins, I would love to workout in that sort of heat, as long as you stay hydrated it can do nothing but good things for you :D

I love being outside and the feeling of the warm sun on my back.......

I have very fair skin and burn very easily also had a skin cancer scare a few years ago so I'm very careful about how much sun I get when it's this intense.
