What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud? Should This Post Be Canceled?

Hey Miz Mary...keep up the Proud Post! If I've said this once, I've said it a few times:  Take What You Need...Leave the Rest!

This here is a public Forum and if Al Quacka wants to post, he may do so, whether fat or thin.

So seriously, folks. We all know the term Fat Slob is not nice or desirable. I'm a size 14 and my size zero gal pals think I'm a fat slob, I'm sure. I think they look like young boys.  So are we even?

Wow. I sure have missed alot since I last had time to lurk!! You sure set off an uproar, and I'm unsure where I stand on the issue. First off, OF COURSE  you should keep posting the WHYDTTMYFP posts!! Its great to list prouds for the day and get positive feedback from friends! About the ladies at walmart, maybe calling them fat slobs wasn't such great wording, and I try not to lable people cause i don't like to be labled myself, but it sounds like you called it right. People DO have the right to wear whatever they want, no matter what there size. I think the topic could have been handled better as, maybe, a 'is there an appropriate way to dress at different sizes?' post, or a discussion on what society deems as appropriate. I am currently *sigh* back to being over 400 lbs myself, and have rolls on my rolls.   I dress for my size. I don't wear super baggy clothes because they make you look bigger, but so do tight clothes on a bigger person. I don't wear shorts because i'm not comfortable with my legs, but think there's nothing wrong with a person my size wearing regular shorts on a hot day. Or on a cold day. whatever. But short shorts....yikes! I have friends who have delusions that they are smaller than they are, and wear tight, short clothing that shows off every bump and buldge. Perhaps these women don't realize that they would look better in a bigger size/style? Or maybe its a case of refusing to go up a size or two, but also refusing to do anything about the weight gain. I've been there, refusing to go up a size, squeezing my but into jeans two sizes too small, just so I can keep the size. sizes don't matter as long as they fit well.

Its hard to say don't judge them, because we are a society that judges. Sad but true. I am very overweight, but when I see someone in public in an outfit that is too small like that, I judge. Its hard not to, even though I have no right to, since I'm big and my weight is out of control.

As far as them riding in the carts, just because the were able to walk from the car to the store, doesnt' mean they are able to walk the entire time they shop. I have used the carts in the recent past because I have a bad back and two bad knees. I could walk short distances, but shopping would kill me, and so i used the carts. Without knowing peoples medical history, its hard to say if they need it or are just being lazy.

I would have to agree with you that they were being slobs eating the deli food in the store like that...but I would say that about skinny people who act like that too, and I've seen it.

I think all the people who have been successful in their weightloss are great for this forum. It give us still struggling hope, because it can be done, and has, and it is helpful to get advice and wisdom from those who have gone before us.
