Great post!
I'm a hardass about most things so excuses don't really work for me (not always a positive thing). I don't think I had excuses for why I couldn't lose weight but there certainly were reason(s). I think the reason I was so fat was that I didn't love myself enough to lose the weight. Maybe that's an excuse.....hhhhmmmmm, thoughts to ponder.

Excuse #11: I hate myself. . . .
That's an eye opener.

Seems pretty obvious to me that that guy was just looking for a way of getting out of the trip. It was probably something he said he would do to shut up his wife.
As for excuses for not losing weight, sometimes there are medical reasons that people gain weight and have a hard time losing it. It really gets frustrating when these things go undiagnosed and you're trying but it's like rowing upstream.
Mine was always that I was too tired. But hormonal depression was part of my syndrome and when I was depressed I was always exhausted. So I just wanted to say that before we go judging too harshly those who say that they are too tired too work out and diet, we need to find out if they are depressed because that may be the source of their exhaustion.
Hmmmm...now that I'm no longer depressed, a bad case of procrastination hinders my workouts!

Hmmm......Procrastination , could that be excuse #12:
I'll do it later.
Actually, I used that one myself for a long time. "Ill start my diet tomorrow". . . .
As for the husband of this poor woman, he phoned me last night, at my home, and begged me to put a trip together for them. He said his wife isn't speaking to him. I told him, the trip was going to cost more and that I would only do it if I had unconditional permission to make all the arrangements without interference. To his credit, he did come crawling back - not that it gives me any satisfaction but it's a big victory for his (probably) long, suffering wife. Of course, today I have to figure out how to fix this mess. . . .
