HI Denise! I am LizzyM and for years have been wanting to have wls. I decided on the vsg and everytime I schedule it, something happens. Perhaps divine intervention? LOL. Any way, I have been meeting with a nutrionist every 2 weeks and have lost 12 pounds in just under 3 weeks. I am not starving, I am not on a calorie reduced diet, I am just eating real food. NOthing processed or canned and my go****'s working. 12 pounds for me is phenominal! I am still having a hard time getting exercise in, being so big, it's hard and painful to do more than walk a little, but I am doing that. If I continue to do well, I will not have surgery. I am also going to give myself enough time to see if I can do it, till the end of the year. I may not be at goal, but should have dropped quite a bit. My nut is so smart, I just love her.  I have not kown anyone who has used Alli or the other you spoke of. I know this is a lifestyle change, not just for now. As I am older, I see how it all plays out, no more jacking around for me, healthy and happy is what it's gonna be! Good Luck to you.

Your story is so much like all of us.  We have all been there and understand where you are coming from.  I think you are very wise to explore your options while you decided on WLS.  I weighed 310 lbs 3 years ago.  I was having that talk with God, wondering if this was it and am I on my way to the here after?  Is it my time or am doing this to my self?  Well long story short I decided that I was doing this to myself and that my children still need me.  I decided that i love my children more than food.  So I decided to change my life

I have change my life style and eating habits. I exercise regularly and sleep well. I have lost 150 pounds and have maintained my weight for more than 2 years.  I am now a Certified Life Coach, Specializing in Weight Loss.  I have a passion for helping people to lose weight and feel healthy.
Diets  just don't work.  At some point that diet will end and we all gain the weight back and a little extra. If you make the comitment to change your life, you will do it.  Commit yourself to a new life and love yourself enough to stick with it.  No food tastes as good as healthy feels.  i am not special, If I can do it you can too.  If you would like to talk to me privately please write. I would love to support you on this journey. Yours rose
