OK; I have posted that I want to try to loose weight with out wls.  I am seeking suggestion on percentages of differnt things needed to be successful.  What fhis means is percentage of protien, carbs, fat, fruits/vegetabels and dairy.  Please keep in mind the following Atkins is a no go , was told that if I tried it again that I would die. last time I was hospitalized for four days and my heart went in tacacardia ( 160 bpm).  I am insulinm resisitant and carb sensitive.

My general idea is 1200-1500 caloriesa a day,30grams of carbs, extra protien,vegitables/fruit and dairy.  going to the gym 6 out of 7 days a week.

thoughts???

Hi....I too am insulin resistant and carb sensitive.  I recently met with a nutritionist (certified diabetic educator) about what I should be eating.  Here is the plan she suggested for me:
Carbohydrates...40%
Protein...25%
Fat...30-35%
For a 1500 calorie diet that would work out to be 150gm of carbs (from fruits, veggies and whole grains), 95 g protein and 60g fat.  She also told me never to eat fruit by itself for a snack, but always to incorporate it into a meal or have it with protein (apple and cheese for example).

She said the most important thing I could do (even greater than food restriction) is exercise....which it certainly sounds like you're doing.

Hope this helps!!
