OT Mothers day
JUST WANTED TO SHARE MY AFTERNOON EXPERIENCE WITH YOU WONDERFUL LADIES, AS I WAS COMING HOME FROM TRADER JOES TODAY, MY TWO YEAR OLD WAS CRYING IN THE BACK SEAT, IT WAS NAP TIME AND SHE WAS CRANKY (SHE THREW A TANTRUM IN THE STORE TOO BECAUSE I WOULD NOT GET HER A SECOND SERVING OF THE SAMPLE OF ORGANIC TEA AND LEMONADE) ANY WAY, I GOT HOME JUST IN TIME FOR MY OLDER TWO CHILDREN TO WALK HOME FROM SCHOOL, I ALWAYS WAIT IN THE FRONT YARD FOR THEM, THEIR SCHOOL IS JUST DOWN THE STREET, ANYWAY, I THOUGHT OKAY I HAVE JUST ENOUGH TIME TO GET OLIVIA IN FOR A NAP AND TAKE ALL THE STUFF IN, PEE, (I HAD BEEN HOLDING IT ALL THROUGH MY SHOPPING TRIP) AND GET BACK OUT HERE FOR THE KIDS,SO SOUNDS SIMPLE ENOUG RIGHT? WELL AS YOU MOM'S OUT THERE KNOW 2 YEAR OLDS NEVER MAKE THINGS SIMPLE ENOUGH, SO I GOT MY BAGS OUT OF THE TRUNK, GOT MY PURSE, MY DAUGHTERS BAG, MY WATER BOTTLE, AND SOME SHOES OUT OF THE CAR AND THEN ATTEMPTED TO GET MY DAUGHTER OUT, SHE HAD A STICKER BOOK IN HER HANDS (STICKERS EVERYWHERE!) AND DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE IT IN THE CAR, SO I SAID FINE TAKE IT IN THE HOUSE, THEN I MANAGED TO GET ALL THREE GROCERY BAGS, A BAG OF DIAPERS AND IN THE OTHER HAND TWO PURSES, AND MY TENNIS SHOES, AND TOLD MY DAUGHTER LETS GO IN THE HOUSE COME ON, WELL SHE STARTED CRYING AND INSISTED I CARRY HER, INSTEAD I GOT BEHIND HER AND STARTED NUDGING HER TOWARD THE FRONT DOOR, SHE PROTESTED AND THREW HER STICKER BOOK IN THE LAWN, AND I HAD TO PUT DOWN ALL OF MY GROCERY BAGS TO PICK HER UP, MEANWHILE SHE IS SCREAMING MOMMY MOMMY, SO I WRESTLE HER ONTO MY HIP, BAGS STILL LOADING THE OTHER ARM AND IM FUMBLING THE KEYS TO GET THE DOOR UNLOCKED WHILE SHE IS CRYING IN MY EAR, AND I THOUGHT ABOUT UPCOMING MOTHERS DAY, AND I THOUGHT AND THEY ONLY GIVE US ONE DAY FOR THIS? HAHA! WELL BY THE TIME I GOT HER IN THE HOUSE I LAID HER ON THE COUCH THEN RAN BACK OUT TO GET THE BAGS I LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRONT YARD AND STILL , YES STILL, HAD TIME TO PEE, CHANGE A DIAPER, (WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF POTTY TRAINING) LAY HER DOWN FOR A NAP AND GET OUT THERE TO MAKE SURE THE KIDS CROSSED THE STREET SAFETLY, AND AFTER ALL THAT GUESS WHAT? SHE HAS STILL NOT TAKEN A NAP, SHE IS IN HER BED YELLING FOR ME TO COME GET HER! HA WELL WE MOM'S SHOULD BE CALLED BY OUR REAL NAME'S MORE OFTEN "SUPERWOMEN" DONT CHA THINK?
SO HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL YOU SUPERWOMEN OUT THERE!!

Wow! you ARE a superwoman.
I only have one and he's 36 in 2 months, so I will say it should get easier eventually, though in our case it took quite a while.
He is taking me to a Mother's Day brunch for the first time. When he was little I used to take him out for brunch on Mother's Day (single mom, no DH to celebrate the day). Now he is going to buy and then come over and help with some chores around my house. I guess I did something right all those years ago.
