Regrets in life

I really only have one regret in life - and that is that I allowed myself to get so obese that when I do lose this weight I will need extensive plastic surgery to become somewhat normal - well as normal as you can be after plastic surgery.

Do you have regrets too?

Yep, I absolutely regret it.  It was devastating to me physically, financially and emotionally.
I have other regrets in life but this is the most current.  LOL

This has to be said: the word regret to me sounds like we live some sort of ball & chain. Kimmie is still wearing hers, of course - she has been thru a LOT recently.

But for me, regret is not really how I feel about the big "mistakes" in my life. Hey, it's easy to play armchair quarterback once we look back, but at the time, Kimmie, me, all of us did all we knew to do. There would have been no talking us out of it, right?

Some lessons in life come harder than others. I mainly feel relief that I ever caught on to my foolish ways - some folks never ever do - they even see the glaring issue but choose to live a lesser life anyway.

I have recently started my Plastic Surgery and am curious why you regret it so much.  Would you mind sharing?
Thanks

Skylar, don't be so hard on yourself, if weight loss was easy, none of us would be on this board for support.  I don't think one of us here set out to get obese but unfortunately we all have to live with the consequences.  Like dieting to lose it!

After all that Kimmie has been through I can see why she would feel the way she does about surgery.  I for one think it is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  I finally got back what obesity had stolen from me...I look normal. And I sincerely don't mean to brag when I say that for a fifty-one year old woman...I look damn GUDE!  OK, so maybe I'm braggin' a li'l bit.

My only regret was the expense of it all because my crappy insurance paid for nothing.

yes, skylar...I regret not tackling the hard things in my life. My eating disorder was at the epi-center of it all, too.

Mainly, I should have kicked my ex out de do LONG before I did and learned to honor myself. I kept eating when I should have been fighting for ME and my kids. He put me down - and I let him. I put me down, too, just by staying and abusing myself right along with him.

The biggest regret if my life way always looking down on the way I looked. I always thought I looked fat and now looking at old pictures I wasn't at all. Its amazing how our perception of ourselves can be so warped.
