What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud? Biggest Loser

Happy Biggest Loser Tuesday Everybody!  I'm still having a hard time with Kristin being gone and as of right now I don't have a clue who I want to win.  It was so much easier last year when it was the Evil Alliance against sweet little Michelle.  This year, except for Helen, they all seem to be kind of full of themselves...or is that just me?  But I'm not sure if Helen can win cuz if she loses anymore she'll be all skin and bones!   Scrawny 2  I suppose I should be pulling for a woman though so I may have to go with Tara.  Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't get why everyone is down on her for winning all of the physical challenges.  From what I can see, it was the competition's fault that she won!  Especially Sione, her main competition.  He would always try to start out fast and get ahead of everyone, but then his legs would betray him and when he couldn't go anymore, here came steady stamina Tara.  Kind of like us losing weight...slow and steady wins the race.  But I think she a li'l full of hasself, too, or am I mistaking that for all of these former chubettes finally getting some confidence beat into them?

OK, enough rambling about my favorite show and onto my Proud.  I ain't got one. Blushy 2  I had a great one this weekend, I cleared property with my BIL and worked my toockuss off.  It felt so good to get out there and do something so absolutely physical!

I think that kid, the son, is gonna win.  Why?  He already sees it.  If you notice, often when folks see it and know it inside themselves, they win!  The rest are still in "I need to be here" not "I'm gonna win".  It's a game.  Look to who's playing the game (Tara and that boy) versus who is insecure and emotionally needy.

He still has a bit to go and is also steady, so unless he hits the wall, I see him winning.

I wanted Kristin to win, but let's hope she gets the other prize they give for voted off folks....

I don't like Tara, she's not just competitive, she is full of herself.  There's a line, she's crossed it.

I'm working hard getting ready to leave in a few days.  Last night with the twins before I leave.  Ordered a book for the long plane rides - "Good Calories, Bad Calories"  by Gary Taubes - anybody read this one?  Thought I'd get into this controversial science stuff and see what it's about.  If it makes sense, I might give it a shot.    Babs

I read GCBC! Not overly impressed, although he does raise a couple good points that I absolutley agree with, namely the chapter on politics. Money does pass laws.

BUTT (there's always a big butt):

See, the feds simply cannot regulate what we eat in a capitalist society. We would have to have the government prescribe what we eat...hell, we are not stomaching the government giving business loans. Capitalism may go too far,  but what we see with Coco Poof cereal able to be called whole grain is part of the downside.

I have called GCBC the book in Google format. I got VERY tired of Taubes numerous small (possibly) unsubstantiated little anecdotes to "prove" his points. Really, Dr. Atkins presented his stuff in a much more convincing fashion. I mean, seriously...who CARES about miners in a small province who had no increased cholo levels.

Keep in mind:  Taubes is a science journal writer...not a scientist or doctor or better yet, a Registered Dietician. I will die on the hill that doctors know more than an RD does about nutrition. The science is world-level behind what they preach. This is not to say every one is a gifted RD....we know how that goes.

Let me know what you think!

chelle - hang IN there! plateaus are the Devil Hisself...pay that no mind and do all the things you are doing.

Our bodies will fight us at a point...those fat cells are in complete rebellion, messing with your hormone (insulin) levels. Be strong.
