What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?
I'm hoping that the reason everyone is missing in action is because you are out shakin' ya groove thang in this beautiful Spring weather. After living here for five years, I am proud that I am "this close" to having my gardens finished. I would have been done a lot sooner but I was having reconstructive plastic surgery for the last three years to get myself finished! I am still amazed at how much easier it is to workout and garden without that big ol belly and boobs hanging in my way.
I pray that life is treating you well and that you are making the most out of the life that you have!

I was, Miz Mary! My missing in action has good basis:
DH & I have the garden well under way, lots more to do. For 4 solid hours, I worked (and cussed) like a man Monday when I dug up the winter weeds, on my knees, then up with a shovel. We get this tangly weeds all up in the good flowering plants that drives me CRAZY.
I had a meltdown aka tantrum I felt so frustrated. Usually gardeining will calm this beast, but not that day! I was pacing the patio, throwing down my gloves, swearin we were going to get a gardener cuz we's too old for this **** What a baby.
DH was much more stoic - his veggies garden area is all ready, all serene and plowed up, just waiting for the plants we have started. Um, now is as good a time as any to mention his "area" is about 1/3 the size of the flowers area that has become "mine". But I am OVER IT.....
Tuesday we packed up with the grandkids, DD's and went to a cabin on the NorCal coast. Absolutely gorgeous! We hunted for agates on the beach, walked, climbed, hiked. Friends came along for one night and we all cooked and drank (ahem, a LOT) Just good family memories...
tonight there is a major car show event in town - we & our buddies are going dancing. My old body is pretty sore and tired out, but I will drag mahself out there just for the buzz.

Woman, I am cracking up laughing at yo fool ass! You and I are too much alike. I've had those meltdowns masself, the other day I was threatening to concrete the whole damn thing and just have potted plants...no weeds involved! Hey, as for those vines, I use a pronged hoe to loosen the soil which makes them easier to pull without upsetting the soil and other plants.
Wow, your time in NorCal sounds like sooooo much fun. I can't believe that you can find agates just laying on the beach. How cool is that?
Have a good time out shakin' your tailfeathers! What a fun way to burn off some calories.

Now that you mention it...during my tanrtum, I did ask for a bag of cement to pour all over the big fat mess, then I was going to paint it green!
My DH just rolls his eyes at me....he's the calm one!

While y'all are painting your cement gardens green, you might as well paint some flowers!! LOL I think I'll stick to growing weeds (darn flower seeds don't want to sprout!!) at least they're alive! My DD thinks they're pretty....

Well aren't we just a trio of ticked off gardeners! I thought gardening was supposed to be therapeutic and relieve stress.
Buy a bag of cypress mulch and put it over your soil in your potted plants...after you weed them, and it will cut way down on your weeds and help keep your soil moist. And it looks purty!

Where did you go/stay on your trip? North California isn't too far from my parents (they live in Klamath Falls, OR) and that would make a neat road trip. I've also wanted to see the redwoods! I'm so ready for a summer road trip!!!
