I'd love to go through your boot camp Mary!! Maybe you could kick some  since into my thick skull!! LOL Right now I'm gonna do what I did back in November that got me started on a loosing track. I don't really know what the South Beach diet is all about, I'll have to look into that and other low carb diets. What I'd really like to do is do my modified version of Atkins until it's not working for me, by then, hopefully I'll have had time to read that darn book and follow Atkins to a t. All I'm worrying about this week is making it through carb withdrawls. It feels worse then ever this time, and I'm extra cranky. I'm trying to avoid people so I don't bite their heads off!! LOL

LOL, I'll have to get you one of my t-shirts... Dog 13 This Dawg WILL Bite!  I started Induction today so I'll be cranky witcha.  It's just so inconvenient ain't it?  But then again, I don't know of one weight loss plan that isn't.  It all sucks Baby Cakes, so we'll just have to deal and get over ourselves!

Here's a little trick that might work for ya.  Everytime you are having negative thoughts about your diet, imagine being at my boot camp and asking yourself, "What would Mary say?"  I know it works cuz I have to listen to that crap all the time!

Hmmm...since I've had a few people suggest that I do this, I'll give it a shot.  I'm not promising consistency in posting, but I'll try to put some recipes in what I do get out...how about that?

Mary,  My Daddy used to preach about finishing what you start.   Seems like we're both closing in on the finish line.   I went to my plastic surgeon today to talk about the last frontier - my shrunken a$$ and my inner thighs.  Thank God, everything can be managed without surgery - just some lipo.  Suck it out of the inner thighs and reinject it in the boo-tay.  It's not that Im on a quest to achieve the perfect boo-tay  - it's about being able to keep my jeans from falling off.  Between massive weight loss and menopause it's MIA.   I really regret not having the auto-augmentation with the LBL a few years ago.

Anyway, he wants me to lose 10 more pounds by lipo day on August 10th.  Doesn't seem so impossible but I have six weeks in Europe coming up starting in about a month.  Speaking of work, a lady who works at the surgeon's office has had everything done - about $55,000 worth of stuff and, because she works there, it's all free.  Man, what a perk!  I thought I had some pretty good perks working in Europe 12 weeks a year but I don't know - maybe I'm in the wrong profession....
I've done Atkins induction - and I'm Italian so you know how hard it is for us to give up pasta
It's two weeks, isn't it?  You might lose that six pounds during induction. . . .  I'm more of a South Beach kinda gal.  I'll be doing double sessions at the gym all this month before I leave for Europe on May 3rd.  The strategy is to lose five to eight  this month and hope things don't get out of hand in Europe and when I return knock of the last five in the remaining six weeks prior to lipo.  He wants me to weigh 130.  I hear ya - those last pounds are murder!

Good Lawd Babs, ain't no way I'd let my doc think I'd lose ten pounds if I were planning to go to Europe for six weeks!  I mean, afterall, that IS what one does in Europe...EAT.  That would be like going to the Mall of America and not shop.  It's impossible.

I just looked at your profile and I don't see why you need thigh lipo, but if he says you do, I must be missing sumpn.  Make sure that you have him inject that thigh fat pretty high to keep those new jeans up.  A girl can't have them falling down on the Champs Elysees! Arc De Triomphe

My butt is very small - look again at those photos - you'll notice that it never plumped up after the LBL.  Sorta a bad miscalculation on my part.  As for the thighs, there are fat deposits there and they wouldn't be a big problem were it not for the fact that my hips and butt are so small now.  The thighs being more or less normal make it very difficult to buy jeans that don't require alterations.  After the lipo and fat transfer, I should have a much easier time finding better fitting clothes.  I am grateful that I didn't need thigh lift surgery.

It's not hard to lose weight in Europe because I stick to the Mediterranean diet - it really agrees with me and I walk between 10 and 15 miles a day so that also helps.   Each year after going over there, I come back lighter.   I think the surgeon's concern is that I not lose the weight after the lipo and fat transfer.

I would really like to be done with everything and be on autopilot - no more plastics, no more extreme dieting - just a nice exercise routine and about 1600 calories a day and I'd be happier than a pig in ****

LOL, I've never heard that expression before...happier than a pig in ****!   Pig That has to be the definition of bliss, no?  But I know what you mean about being 'done'.  I'm so tired of being cut on and swelling and being pumped full of surgery fluids and healing.  At least the slicing and dicing part is over for me, so I suppose that makes me happier than a pig in ****! ROTFL

Hey, does the Mediterranean Diet include pasta?  It's been so long since I've read about it that I don't remember.  But if you can stick to it, it has to include pasta, right?

I don't know exactly how to describe the Med diet.  It's not a diet plan like Atkins - it's more like a way of life over there.  Low meat consumption, lots of fruits and veges, no saturated fats, just olive oil, cheeses and cured meats, pasta  and wine, lots of water and no sodas.  Fruit and cheese is desert.  When I'm over there I eat pasta every day - not a problem.  I also eat breat but I also eat very little meat, lots of veges and fruits.  And I walk 10 miles a day!  It seems to work for me.
