Hi Guys!!!
So how is everyone?
I know I've been MIA for the last 2 weeks or so. I needed a break, then just couldn't get restarted again. Sucks, but true.
I saw my nutritionist this past Wednesday night. Very nice lady. Believe it or not, she's fat. But just because she doesn't practice what she preaches doesn't mean she doesn't know what she's doing, so I kept an open mind. We talked for a while of all the methods of my madness I've tried to lose weight. We talked about how the lap band put me on an incredibly low calorie diet and how that wasn't so fantastic for my metabolism. She cringed when I told her I was on Atkin's for a while. I felt embarrassed. Anywhoo... She gave me 4 pages of rules and regulations that I should abide by. Gave me meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Says I should be doing 6 meals a day and that I should stop counting calories. She is limiting my sodium, fat and carbs, but nothing too extreme. She's pushing a lot of veggies and fruit. And she's nixed all processed stuff, so no more Lean Cuisines for me. This is going to require a lot more effort out of me; I'll be cooking all 3 of my meals from scratch, instead of buying "microwave diet food" for breakfast and lunch. But you know what? I'm ready to put in the effort. She also is pushing that I exercise. Now, out of all of you guys, I'm pretty confident that I'm the laziest on this board, so this is a big deal for me. However, again, I'm ready to put in the effort.
Tomorrow I'm going to wake up at 6:15am and head to the gym. Do about 45 minutes of cardio, and then head to work, for my 10 hour day. Oh, that's another thing; remember how my job was getting rid of a lot of people? They cut 12 out of 20, and I was one of the lucky 8 that stayed, so yay me!! I'm happy that I have a job but I'm doing an insane amount of work right now. I'm working 2 different positions and it's tiresome, but hey - in this economy, I'm grateful.
Anyway, that's my story. Tomorrow, I will start re-posting "What did you eat today?" and will include my exercise regime. I would love it if you guys posted along with me. I love seeing what other people eat; it helps make my imagination soar and gives me new ideas.
Love you guys and missed you loads!!

OMG--->so glad you made the cut at work!!!!! Holy **** I was a bit worried that was why you weren't here...sweating bullets on getting the axe..or worse, getting axed and being suicidal!
Your comment about the nut. being fat was kind of hilarious, but then i realized that I have a thing against skinny nuts. Somehow I always tend to think they don't get it when it comes to being fat and trying to eat well. Hey, who knows...just follow this for a while and see.
I feel in your case, exercise may help you get rocking along here. I have come to believe that not everyone likes exercise or ever will, but those *****ally hate it can benefit from the least bit as compared to somebody like me - an animal. And look at me..not exactly dainty at 195!
I have to comment about making our own food - it is one way to ensure that the ingredients are right, the portions are right, etc. Eating out or even buying the pre-packed stuff is more dicey!
It is so hard to unlock all this. i salute you for hanging in there. luv!!!!! I did miss u and was worried about you.

Glad to have you back, Janina....missed you too! So glad to hear about your job. Isn't it incredible....almost everyone is cutting back on the work force and having fewer people do the same amount of total work. Far more stress for those left behind, but guess we'd rather have that kind then be out job hunting.
Sounds like you've got a plan and I bet you'll get into the cooking part. As far as the exercise....I am probably next laziest on this board for that. Have finally gotten into my water aerobics....sure wish I was capable of that old treadmill once again (never liked it when I was able and now wish I could). You'll probably turn into a gym rat....LOL.
I'm doing WW (AGAIN) and will post along with you ....got out of the habit....but have been tracking my food everyday on my own.
Here's to new beginnings once again.....guess as long as we keep plugging away at it and don't throw in the towel there's hope!!

Dear Janina:
I will share with you, what someone, shared with me: When you are cooking your recipes, take what you need for that meal, with the rest, divvy- up into individual servings and freeze it. Taking out, the individual serving, as you need them, like for your lunch at work, all you have to do is put it in a microwave oven, "Heat and Eat". You can do that with oatmeal too, if you need to take breakfast at work. Home made soups can be frozen, All you would have to do is make a fresh salad to go alone. (for lunch) Fresh fruit, and lots of water. (maybe herbal tea with splenda)
I personally like a quick easy meal, do not like cooking. A good old fashioned sandwich, fruit, & drink. maybe some soup is good for me.

Twilight
Good thinking, Twilight! I used to make a big pot of soup and eat it for several nights when I was single. I would cook chicken breasts up and freeze some to eat any variety of ways...usually I took it to work and ate it for snacks.
I love to cook but when you're single, it is not that fun to make a big mess and have to clean it up only start over.
Somehow, with my DH around, it is part of the drill, but when I was ala carte, just not worth it.
