Reality Check at the Doc office...
VERY real: I am at 201 today. I am heartbroken - not only UP 16#, but now back in Twoterville...
But, confession is good for the soul. I have been working waaay too hard at work, so not eating right. Kind of back to the 3 squares...and too much "extra foods": cookies, ice cream, etc. Stress has not helped.
Traveling has not helped: since January, I've been to San Diego, DC, Arkansas, Burbank. Even tho I do okay with food & exercise while on the road...obviously the rich road food here, there, everywhere has added up.
I went back to the bariatric store and will give the eating small meals thing another try. DH and I are considering the wii fit - it has a great scale and we can both track our weight more accurately here. DH can also use the balance exercises that he currently goes to therapy for.
Today was a good day to get back on my track. Anyway, see. the gal with all the answers has none for you today!

Awwe Neecee, I know all of this sucks, but I have faith in the gal with all of answers that you'll be backing off of that 16 pounds in no time. I know that any time I get off of my schedule, it's hard to stay focused on what is going on with my body. Unfortunately, our bodies can't wait to put back on the weight that we've released, so if we're no****ching things like a hawk, we're gaining.
I gained thirteen pounds with my thigh lift surgery and then eight with my last one. What I do is pick a day to get down and dirty with an A$$ kicking plan to get it off as soon as possible. Get focused on what needs to be done, and then don't take your eyes off of the prize until you get r done!

Awww Bummer! but at least you caught it now before it got anymore out of hand right? stress is a killer! take some time for yourself, Breath, relax, enjoy the beautiful flowers that are "springing" up everywhere! drink lots of water and reflect on how you feel, get your mind cleared out so you can get your head back in the game, I know Im not telling you anything you dont already know, but you will get that 16#'s off girl! I know you will, good job at catching it and calling it exactly what it is!
Check out www.celiac.com for a look at a gluten-free diet. You mentioned that one of your sisters is anorexic, and the rest of your siblings have eating disorders. Have any of you been checked for possible Celiac Disease?
I have been eating GF for 10 months now (read my profile for more information about why and what the results have been), and I have lost 37 pounds without even trying. I am also eating "full-fat" foods. For the first time in my life, I know that I am going to lose most, if not all, of the excess weight, and I am going to do it eating all of the foods that I love!
You may also want to check out www.junkfoodscience.com for information on all of the food myths that we have allowed ourselves to believe over the past 20-25 years. The biggest one is that if you eat dietary fat, you will develop heart disease - it's just not true!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions - I am trying to get this message out to as many people as possible, because I want everyone to be as "happy" as I am while on a "diet" that truly doesn't feel like a diet.
