Wow Moment

Well folks just wanted to share with you my wow moment. I went to the doctor yesterday and MY BLOOD PRESSURE IS NORMAL!!!  No more meds!! I still cheating but I'm not beating myself up about it. The EH(evil husband) will not stop bringing my favorite junk foods in the house. My will power is so weak when he does. From 01-01-2009, I'm down from 270 to 245. My new small goal is 235 by Easter. Wish me luck!!!

That's a really big deal.  Congrats!  Like mini goals - they work really well so as not to become overwhelming.  Good Luck!

 wow! that is a wow moment! congrats! great weight loss! have you ever tried playing a little mind trick on yourself when confronted with your temptations to "bad" food? I know it sounds gross but it really does work, learned this from Paul Mckenna, you have to picture the food as something DISGUSTING use your imagination, but get as gross as you an handle, then imagine yourself eating it, it really does work, and you begin to associate that food with that feeling of disgust, then when you are eating the "good" healthy foods, do just the opposite, think in great detail how much you enjoy it and how you are nourishing your body and what a great thing it is, that way the good food will have those "good" feelings attached to it, it really does work and you'll show your Husband and those food temptations whose boss! No more blood pressure meds makes all of the 'just saying no' to junk worth it!  Getting the junk out of your system and getting off of that 'makes you feel old' medicine is going to give you so much more energy.

Thanks All. I tried the tip about gross food. IT WORKED!!! Doritos with a certain disgusting dip did the trick last night.

Stop thinking of eating off plan foods as "cheating", such a negative connotation!


...lookatchooo, you are losing in spite of these lesser choices. We all do things like that, but being able to keep the amounts reasonable and not very often, we can be successful.
