Anyone doing this?

How has your weight loss been?

How does it stack up to Atkins?

How has your overall experience been?

Thanks,

 Bill

hi bill

my most recent weight loss has been more like SB than any plan, except maybe the Zone which is 30% fat/40% lean proteins/30% carbs. I guess it also closely compares to the mediteranean diet.

I lost 40# - highest weight was 225, not down to 185 ish (weight creeping back up lately!)

I do it more visually:  1/3 of my daily plate is leaner meats, heavy on greens/veggies, controlled portions of rice/pasta/bread.I use, for the most part, a little bit full fat dressings with little to no added sugar.

My weight loss has stopped, in fact as I say I am struggling to stay here. I attribute that to partying a bit too much, me & DH going out of town, my travel for work, etc. Hard to eat when you are out of your typical routine!

eta:  i think you have been here, but i am middle aged and my body needs very little food and low cal is what my old body needs, bottom line. I am a very dedicated exerciser, so that is not my issue.

I liked it b/c my hunger is not usually that hard to control when i stick to foods that are higher quality nutrition and pretty simple:  meats, dairy, greens.

I like it better than Atkins b/c I know for me, i would not stay completely away from simple carbs long enough to make that big of a difference.

Right now to better get a grip, I am trying to eat very low carb - and it is helping I think!

Bill,  I never did that one but I saw an interview on TV a few years ago with Bette Midler and she lost a LOT of weight on that diet and follows it to this day.  I understand it's a low carb diet.

Bill?  Bill???  Arrun, when did you change your name to Bill? Ponder

Speaking of Bill...William Jefferson Clinton lost a ton of weight on South Beach.  My friend Donna lost two or three small children doing this diet and that was in her thighs alone!  From what I've seen on the site, the first two weeks are like Atkins Induction and then you add more fruits and other low carb foods.

I've never tried it, but there seems to be a lot of people who have had success with it, so I'd definitely recommend it.

Actually, my name is Bill Arrundale.

And I'm a comedian, that's where the comic came from.

Hey Arrun, would it be OK if we called you Bloated Ninja???  Nah, I was referring to your CD.  How cool is that...we have a celebrity in our midst!

But hey, South Beach works great for celebrities!

Do you think Clinton lost too much weight?  I saw him on TV recently and he looked a little gaunt.  I can't do Atkins - I'm Italian.  I did Atkins back in 98 and lost 20 pounds in one month and then went out to dinner and had a plate of pasta and gained 10 pounds.......

You crayzee thang!   Too Funny Are you sure you didn't EAT ten pounds of pasta cuz that would definitely interfere with the Atkins diuretic affect!

I definitely think that X El Presidente' is too thin.  But he has heart issues, so maybe it's for his health?  I mean, the man used to chow down on cheesebugers like he was Elvis or sumpn'!

It probably was 10 pounds of pasta!  You know how we crazy 'talians get when we're pasta deprived.  Didn't Elvis eat peanut butter nanna sandwiches?  Love those things !

He ate FRIED peanut butter nanna sandwiches!  No wonder he was such a chunka chunka burnin' love. Famous 2

Good Lawd, I've never thought about that before, a pasta deprived Italian broad.  I think that's the definition of berserk, no? Rolly 3
