The Easiest Diet???
What was the "easiest" diet that you have ever been on. Back in the mid nineties, I was on a low fat diet. There was a low fat version for everything back then. I wasn't required to count calories, or carbs, just not eat over thirty grams of fat a day. Anything fat free was a free food. I initially lost 15 pounds, but then I quit losing and actually gained...ON THE DIET! I seem to think that all of those carbs were making my insulin resistance worse. But I was eating white bread, white rice, and white pasta for Pete's sake! I guess I thought it was easy because I'm a carbohydrate addict.
I was just curious what other folks have done.

the Hollywood Diet!
fruit ONLY until noon - never after noon
grains/starchy veggies with high water veggies only
meat with high water veggies only (added fat like dressing was permitted here only as I recall)
dairy alone ( I would have ice cream for supper - I am sure sugar was not part of the plan, but trust me here, I ate large amounts of ice cream!)
three hours between any of these combos
I lost 20# in 6 months, no cal counting and pretty much could always adapt to wherever i was - out to dinner, at friends houses, etc!
I have no idea WHY it worked, I know what the book said on the why, but there is absolutely no science behind it.
i often wonder about trying it again!

Oh, by the way Neecee, this is my friend from the PS board...Donna, aka Big City Girl, but I call her Babs cuz she came out looking like Barbie. She's been hanging over here with us ever since you left. I told her just don't say anything bad about Oprah and Neecee will let you stay! She's cool, you'll like her.
Now, getting back to this diet. Were there any portions to these combinations or did you just eat as much as you wanted, as in large amounts of ice cream? And as for the ice cream, was it just plain vanilla or could you have combinations like cookies or chocolate chip. Tell me I could have butter pecan and I might just be all over this!

Yes, Mary, no portions as I recall - or I missed that part! Now do take notice of the hours between meals/combos...three hours...so calorically, probably I was okay even eating what I wanted.
