Sometimes...This Is Just HARD
Sharon! Thanks for bringing the plastic surgery board to me over here! How many times have I told people that they were suffering from the "plastics blues"? Just because my surgery was minor, the thought never occurred to me that I'd have them again, but apparently, I do. Swell Hell ain't for Sissies! I love the way I look first thing in the morning, but by late afternoon my clothes and rings are tight and I look like I'm auditioning for, "Bride of Porky Pig". That's when I become irrational and want to eat trash! Thanks for pointing this out to me, Shar, it helps to know that it's not just me...I'm blaming it on the lipo fluids.
Hey everybody, this is my friend Sharon...and Dr. Andrea's friend, too. She's smart and funny and sweet, and she has the most gawgus tatas I've ever seen after a breast lift. I told ya'll Kimmie and I are from the trashy side of OH!
Shar, did you just say that maintenance sucks sometimes? SisterFriend, for me, maintenance sucks MOST of the time! A whole lot of diet and exercise for no results, but at least we've already had our results. Good news is that now we are like 'normal' women *****ing about diet and exercise. And to think, all I ever wanted was to be normal.
Thanks again for reminding me where I come from. Loves ya plenty,
Mary

Right back at ya, my friend! You and Andrea and many other non-ops are near and dear to me. At 6 years post-op (next week...yikes!), my struggles with maintenance are similar to yours. I can get off track just like everybody else. You have been an inspiration! I admire your strength and fortitude. We just have to keep each other sane, huh?
Thanks for letting me crash your board!
Love ya and hang in there!

Me too!! I've been back on plan for two days now, and by golly, I'm proud of myself!! I hate getting back on plan, everytime I go off, it gets harder and harder to go back, but darn it! Times a wasting and summer's coming, and I want to be able to wear cute summer clothes (that havn't fit me in years!!) so I HAVE to stay on plan. No choice. I even resisted fettachini alfredo that the sitter was feeding my daughter for dinner, mmmm. But I was good!
For me, getting back on plan is harder the longer I stay off plan. One day, and I'm right back on, no problem. Two weeks off and it's hard to get my head back in the game. Maybe it's cuz I'm not desperate anymore. But I don't like the consequences of not being on plan, so I always try to get right back on the wagon.
You are getting good if you can refuse alfredo sauce. I fix it for my husband all the time and it doesn't have the hold over me that it used to. Fitting into smaller clothes feels better than alfredo tastes! Get to working those bands girlie, your clothes are waiting.

Mary you are such a great encouragement on this board! I think we tend to put you on a pedestal at least I know I do! but you just like the rest of us are only human! and you are a beautiful human at that! I am confident that you will pull through this, you know too much to go backward now, you are right! sometimes it is just hard!
hugs to you!
Michelle
hugs to you!

So, Mary, as a future Atkins success, I would like to know if, when you take 2 weeks off the plan like you did, do you just go back on plan or do you do Induction again to get your body back on track?
Just wondering - I am sure it will matter to me someday down the line.

Can you tell I haven't finished the book yet? ;-)

You're STILL reading that book? LOL Here's how I personally handle going off of Atkins maintenance. For one day off, I go back to Induction for three days. Long enough to detox the sugar. For longer, I go back to Induction for TWO freakin' hard ass, suck the life outta ya weeks. Now that's a phrase you won't be reading in the book!
