So... Over the weekend I had a long talk with my best friend and emailed my nutritionist.  After loads of consideration, I decided that my 6 bad weeks on Atkin's was more than a stall; it was failure, and I should move on from the diet.  My nutritionist suggested I do 1500-1600 calories a day (I get so many because I'm so big) and avoid empty calories as much as possible.  Also, she suggested I go for more meals a day, instead of 3 meals.  I bumped myself up to 3 meals and 3 snacks.

Before you critique my menu, I want to say that I'm not suggesting this is perfect (for example, the mashed potatoes tonight isn't the smartest choice).  But it's better than what I've done before when I was watching calories.

Love you guys!!

I am happy that you are not giving up and that you have consulted your nutritionist. You are a stong woman and you can do this!! Sometimes I think our bodies just get used to a diet and gets old with what you are doing. You have lost ALOT of weight with atkins and there is nothing wrong with moving on to counting calories!! Keep us updated I hope you find something that gets your weight loss started up again!

Janina....hope this works for you!  You have certainly given the Atkins a fair shake.  Sounds like you're going to be enjoying some variety now too!!  I think it does us good to shake things up once in a while...bet you'll be surprised that you'll lose on so much more food.

Thanks Sherrie Berrie.  I need the support!!  It's the fear of the unknown right now and I'm nervous.

Your menu looks great!  I'm a firm believer in eating many small meals a day to keep the metabolism stoked.  Wishing you continued success in your weight loss journey!

Not bad at all, unless you feel hungry between meals. If so, then you know what to do (add more protein, fat, less sugarish stuff like carnation instant breakfast, though that stuff has come a long way).

I would also suggest more green veggies!

I sure hope this works...you got to do something and switch this up.

Best of luck, my friend!
