OT
I think that it's all a matter of perspective. When you are young and dating, it's a chance to prove your love. When you are married, for about the first ten years, or less, it's about proving the spark is still there. Now that I've been with the same Valentine for almost thirty years, it's just a card day. We prove how much we love each other every day and in subtle, unspoken ways, so one day becomes less important.
Unless, of course we are talking my birthday or Christmas...now those are DAYS!!!
Happy Valentine's Day Stacey,
Mary

oh yeah, when ya don't have a hunny, it damn sure is a ****ter.
I thank you for the reminder that we sometimes do not have our heart's desire when it comes to love.
I put in many years of lonely Valentine's Days and I want to remind you all who are pining away that your TRUE lover waits for you. Mine finally showed up. Some of my most lonely VD's were when I was in a horrible marriage - there is NO loneliness like when you sit in the same room with someone who makes you miserable.
Stace and others who feel low today: I know someone in your life would love to hear from you and love to hear Valentine's Day cheer - call someone right now and say hi and i love you.

To me V-day is LOVE day. Celebrating love doesnt always mean a man you are with. For example my daughter gave her friends and teachers cards at school, I also gave my children cards. Its just another day to tell someone you love and appreciate them. So, like Neece said call someone you love and let them know it. One day you will have someone you love to spend the rest of your life with and there will be many V-day's to celebrate with them. I have been married for 6 years and I got a kiss and I love you, from my hubby and kids, which mean the world to me.

I'm with you Stacey! I absolutly HATE this holiday. It is the most depressing of holidays. I have never had a sweetheart on valentines day, I think if I had someone who I loved, who loved me I would feel different. But for now, Down with valentines day!!
Valentine's Day is "just another day" mostly. I don't take it too seriously. Hubby got me a nice card, and we went out.
The cool thing about THIS Valentine's Day was that my little girl (the new mommy) got invites from THREE guys to do something fun today. She didn't think that would happen post-baby. She's out at a music event with a handsome and tender-hearted young musician tonight. It's 12:28 as I type this!!!
Gramps and I took little Sam with us on our "date" for su****hanks to Michelle for getting me all worked up about Sushi!!!!
I wanted to post a funny photo on here. I know I've "copied and pasted" photos before, but it won't work. I had taken Sam's diaper off because he was acting agitated. For some reason, taking off his diaper and letting him squirm and kick seems to calm him right down. Laura snapped a picture when I scooped him up and gave him a hug. I'll post a link here.
Happy day after the big Chocolate and Card Company day!
