Mary..
Just wanted to say thanks for the idea of getting my weekends in order before they come around. I'm still juggling with it, even ordered pizza last weekend, but it wasn't nothing compared to what we usually do. Dh last night actually even mentioned going out to eat pizza tonight. He's so bad, it's going to be hard to break him. But on the same note, he does deserve to go out after a hard weeks of work...so I guess I'm on my own on what I put in my mouth on these occaisions. :)
I'm learning that grocery shopping on Thursdays or Fridays instead of Sundays or Mondays is working better for me, which I didn't think would. I always thought that having fresh fruit, veggies, ect., for the week would be nice. But getting my shopping done on Thursday or Friday is making the house well stocked for weekends instead of the cupboards being bare. I never realized it before, and maybe that is why we eat out so much on weekends. Well, not all the reason..but I have noticed a humongous difference.Everyone actually seemed excited to have lots of choices to eat (I made a few dishes also and put in the fridge) on weekends.
Thought I would post this here instead of in an email, thought it might possibly help someone else out that has such a hard time with weekends. I know I'm already panicking over not wanting to gain this weekend..the scale went down again today even though I ate quite a bit yesterday (knock on wood)...so I'm already preparing Saturdays menu before we end up in a fast food joint!
Thanks!
Unfortunately, we are all responsible for what we put in our own mouths...damnit! Getting all of those people you cohabitate with to eat at a healthy place like Subway could take some time, so until then, try eating your healthy meal at home and then sit and enjoy the fellowship of a meal out with your family. Let it be about food for them and something that you can be proud of for you. They will learn by what you practice.
Have a great healthy weekend with your crew!
Mary
