Happy Birthday Kimmie!! Enjoy!
Mary....where did you get the picture of the beautiful cake? It looks good enough to eat! My friends one year (when I was on another one of my diets) made me one out of fresh vegetables that was just spectacular. What a great idea the flowers are!! I am going to have to make one of these. Did you make it? Is it a real cake?

Hey Sherrie, I got that pic from a florist's website. I didn't want to put up a pic of a real cake cuz you know how we iz around here....I didn't want to be responsible for one of us going off the deep end!
Flower arranging is one of my hobbies, and this cake is so easy to make. Just cut some Oasis into a round form and put in gerber daisies or mums. Those little green flowers are stuck in with colored pins. I've made them before in silk flowers that I hot glued on to round cardboard boxes and used for centerpieces at a baby shower. I made them so the lid was detachable and filled them with baby goodies, and my niece kept them for trinket boxes for the babies room. Too cute!

isn't that gorgeous! Just like Kimmie's butt!
Happiest of Days tomorrow, Kimmie!
You did have a rough year. 2009 cannot be that bad, can it????
PS: I will NOT mention how yummy real violets are on a chocolate cake. I would make one and line them up on the edge of the cake. I've seen violets "frosted" in superfine sugar (dip in beaten egg white first), but truly they are plenty sweet just the way they are.
Most pansies are edible, too, but do not take my word for it. nasturtiums are great on salad - they have a flavor just like black pepper to me.
