Probiotics for Intestinal problems relating to foods
If you remember, I have had a lot of stomach problems in the past (more like a good year). I finally got an ultrasound and it came back fine. I've been thinking, I wonder if it's because of all my green intake. My smoothies are FILLED with kale and spinach in large quantities. A lot of days I will eat a good pound a day of veggies if not more. That is along with my fruit. I just joined another forum that eats the way I do (or want too). Someone mentioned intestinal problems and their naturapath told them it is a sign of improper digestion, that might have an imbalance in the intestinal tract that can easily be restored by a daily probiotic.
Anyone ever heard of this before? I'm tired of being in pain. I ate lousy again this weekend (another story) and sure enough the pain subsided some, not sure if it was a coincidence or not. I never thought that eating too much good food could cause me problems but it might be! This pain can get pretty intense. Lol, is this a good reason to stick to fast food?lol Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't!
Anyone have any thoughts on this?? I'm a little skeptical of getting this.
Hey Holl, this is an article written by a hollistic nurse practitioner that I used to use to get my hormones in balance. This website is full of information, even though I find her a bit long winded.

I hesitate to buy any as labeled probiotic as I tend to think of it all just more snake oil. I do try to buy foods that have live cultures in them: hi quality yogurts, greek yogurt, especially.
I think your post says that when you eat fast foods, you get gut pain, right? Soon, you will begin to associate that behavior with pain and eat less of it.
If you mean that the green drinks and veggies make you feel like that, back off, or eat more cooked veggies. Eating more fiber all at once or erratically can make us gaseous and increase mucus production in the gut.
You weekend fare of the greasy carby stuff can toss off your balance. I would try to eat as clean as possible one weekend just to see!

Thanka for the article Mary. I'm going to read it tonight.
Necee - I'm starting to think it's the veggies, not the junk food. It eases up on me when I eat the junk food. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not yet, but tha'ts how it's seeming. I already stopped eating broccoli because of this thinking that was the culprit, now I'm wondering if it's the raw spinach. Just not sure, but I'm easing up on it all to see if its it. Sort of sad teh doc didn't even think of asking how my diet was, just immediately expected gallstones or my female issues. I will have to say I'll be sad if it is veggies, because I'm really enjoying eating lots of raw veggies in my drinks. :(
