Friend on diet... what do you think of it?
Breakfast
Small piece of cheese (low fat)
Steamed squash
Lunch
Turkey
mustard
more steamed squash
Dinner
grilled chicken
salad
one thin bread wrap
No additonal dairy allowed
No fruit allowed
No snacks
No more carbs allowed
No directive to workout- and she doesn't
She keeps saying how she's already lost 10 lbs THIS YEAR and the diet promises 20lbs in 10 weeks. I think if that was all I ate I'd start chewing off my own arm.

Sounds like my diet lately although I do try to eat (or drink) more protein than that. It is not a sustainable lifetime plan so the 10 pound or 20 pound loss will be hard (if not impossible) to maintain. Just like any fad diet - many people want to believe that it will be THE ONE - the *magic* program and as you've experienced, there's no magic involved.

I think if its not something you can stick to forever, its not worth doing. I'm sure she'll lose but will put it right back on once she tires of the steamed squash. No fruit?? No snacks? No more dairy than a small piece of lowfat cheese? Bizarre, to say the least, and not realistic.
