Oh, wow.  I was catching a moment of tv and saw that Eric, the deli owner from TBL, Season 3 regained SO MUCH WEIGHT.  I could have sworn he regained over 100 lbs and said "But I caught it in time", OMG...  I just felt so bad for him and humbled that I've maintained my 60lb loss.  Now I am starting to understand why my nutritionist wanted to reinforce "what I've done so far" and keep the weight off....

One of the women from that challenge I was in regained 10 of her 22lb loss and a friend regained 15 of her 25 (both were doing low fat diets).  Just goes to show how important it is to grab hold as soon as you see it.  But 100+, he missed the big red flag ; /.

Awwe, I feel bad for him.  That just really stinks.  It's hard, it's really hard to maintain weight when you lose it so fast like that.  Two hundred pounds in six months?  Or did I hear that wrong?  Poor guy.  Hopefully he will get back into gear and do it right this time.  Yanno, I think that is one of my biggest fears.  Sort of the fear we were talking about yesterday I guesss (since I've been through it).  Is regaining back any weight that I have lost since I've been heavy all my life and then got a little taste of being thinner.  Gaining it back again after losing it again would be heart breaking.  Enough I think to where I probably wouldn't want to do it again. Yo-yo dieting is no fun, wracks havoc on your body and self esteem.  I feel for him.  Hope he gets the help he needs and soon.

I always wondered how these folks were going to keep it off.  It has to be hard I mean they are loosing it by working out on a rigorous schedule of what eight or so hours a day during the show.  Then afterwards that can't be happening in real life...that has to take some toll on the metabolism and reality.  I really feel bad that they seem to be set up for failure...is it truly "reality" tv...I just wonder if they can keep up with what they are doing in real life.  must be frustrating.

Found this; it's a little outdated but lists who has lost what and kept it off.  Sad.

yeah...I feel badly for them all. Even more than what I am about to say, let's face it, TBL is not exactly real life. What? being away from all the triggers & rigors of real life and working out more than most people will ever be able to do?

.....and:  if the WOE/exercising is not what a body will do long term, one is wasting time.

Low fat plans do work for people..maybe not many of us here, but I would not deign to bash 'em! I can name plenty of people IRL that it has and does work for.  whatever works is all i am sayin.

Finally - (I used to be this way) - fat peeps have a terrible misunderstanding that "goal" is where you stop or back off and go back to whatever you feel like doing.

Just. does. not. work. like. that.
