Owning choices
I know it sounds very simple and obvious but I am really starting rethink and refocus on day to day reality- I own my choices.
What and how much I eat, when I work out, who I spend time with, how I live my life.
At the end of the day I choose each and every action and thereby choose the consequences be they positive or negative.
I can make excuses- sometimes very valid excuses, but at the end of the day who am I kidding if I don't make the best choices? Me. Who is negatively impacted by bad choices? Me.
Anyway, that's my wisdom thought for the day,
What's your wisdom thought?
Em
I like that Em. You are so right.
My wisdom thought of the day would have to be ...Today is tomorrow, there is no tomorrow.
So I better be the best I can, treat myself like if there is not going to be a tomorrow. Heba on Biggest Loser last season said this to her husband when he wanted to give up on exercising. She yelled at him saying today is tomorrow, there is no tomorrow. Otherwise do it now because tomorrow might not be there. We (I) tend to waste so many years just thinking about it with no action, time to make tomorrows reality happen.

I have a new wisdom (philosophy).....I'M TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
Stress is my big excuse too. Sometimes I don't feel so blessed, but there are good things, great things to feel blessed about and it's a choice I must choose to focus on -as you say we are Too bless to be stressed.
I know that I literally use food to stuff down feelings of losing control. But you know what? The consequences of that action is feeling more stressed.
Em
I would add that who among us is NOT stressed???? Stress is manageable, i finally realized.
I thought when I had no money to pay bills that that was stress. So, now that I have attained a better economic status, um, stress is guess what...still here. I have to work hard to stay on top of this heap!
My stress is largely related to work, but i worry about all our kids, now grandkids, all their problems, my DH health issues. Stress is alive and well no matter who we are. We need a sequential plan to deal, my chicks.

If you did step off the bus, find your way back!
I use visualization a lot: I retrace steps over my day and visualize myself doing even better where possible. For me, did I eat a variety of nutritious food? Did I allow hunger by skipping a food group? Did i move to the extent possible this day?
The OT things I think about are: did i think and act in all situations with my Higher Self? (actually, these types of things are not so OT in my book; I think feeling good about myself all around helps me to love myself and stay on track in all areas!)
After I own up to the good or the bad, I then visualize me, doing the right thing next time.
