What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?

I baked a lemon cake with butter cream almond icing and didn't even lick the bowl!  But tomorrow is my DH's birthday and we have reservations at the Blue Bayou Grille, so I'm saving my day off for tomorrow.  DH is giving me a hard time because I won't let him have any of this cake, but it's for my plastic surgeon and his staff that I'm going to see tomorrow.  I know it doesn't seem fair, but afterall, my PS is the one who will be cutting on me, so he gets to come first...DH will come first tomorrow night! Lipstick 2

Now that's the kind of cake I need to make all of my family at gatherings.  I hate lemon anything unless it's real lemon.  Hey, that's one way to substitute my bad habits.  Substituting it with cooking foods I don't like to eat!ha

I'm proud of myself today for riding 9.3 miles in 40 minutes.  Next week I'll probably increase the level I'm on rather the program.  I've now officially gone up one level on my bike, went from  twenty to forty minutes, and 4-5 miles to today's 9.3!

 WOOT!!

LOL, I know that cooking desserts that you don't like is a great strategy because I use it all of the time.  My DH loves cooked fruit.  I can't stand it.  So all of his desserts are apple pie, mince meat pie, blackberry cobbler, peach cobbler and baked pears or apples with cinnamon.  I get all of the props for being a loving and caring wife, and I don't have crap in the house that tempts me.

Woman, you are turning into a workout MACHINE...you've come a long way, BABY!

Lemon cake with buttercream almond icing....can you see me drool?  Your PS must love you!!

Day 10 and I'm still on plan here.  I'm going to KY for a long weekend to celebrate my granddaughter's first birthday and kind of anxious about it all.  Traveling (alone) is hard for me cause I'm a sneak eater and usually trips like that I load up on Slim Jim's, 3 musketeers and Baby Ruth's!!  I plan on packing my cooler with healthy choices and taking a salad with my ground turkey breast and green beans for lunch so I don't have to face a restaurant menu on my own.  My DIL is a good Italian cook too so am taking slices of pork tenderloin and my brown rice to have in place of pasta or pizza.  Also taking my steel cut oats, plain LF yogurt and my blueberries for breakfast.  My son has requested Bruegger's blueberry bagels....will put those in the way back so the smell doesn't drive me crazy.  I have a plan and am praying I am able to stick with it.  I don't snack on this plan but will take some apples and LF string cheese in case I get the munchies.

I've been questioning whether I will have a "planned cheat" and have a small piece of birthday cake or not....haven't quite decided.  I'm tending toward no cause I'm really afraid the sugar will really set me off.

LOL, my PS loves my cakes!  When I had my LBL and was begging him to remove my drains, he said, it will either take tons of money or baked goods.  I said, you done took all of my money, so do you like cake?  I baked him one marked, Paid in Full.  Now I bring one whenever I go, which sometimes is not to my benefit.  The second time I went for him to drain a seroma, before he started, he said, did you bring cake?  When I said yes, he hands the needle to the nurse and told me to hold the container and count ccs for her, he was starving and going to eat cake!

What a great plan you have!  Whether you choose to have a planned cheat or not, either way you need to take note of how you feel, so that it can be a learning experience for you.  If you feel deprived, or if you feel strong, or if you feel like you are being punished, those types of feelings.  I hope you come out feeling in command!

Thanks Mary....that's a good idea.  I'm going to wait and decide at the party on Sunday....but either way it will be a concious decision I make....not just gonna eat it impulsively.

Maybe DT will let DH have a piece of cake?  For his birthday?

That would be assuming that he has any control of his staff when it comes to food!  I give the cake to the receptionist, and when I come back to make an appointment, the cake is no where to be seen.  Which is probably why he left me to count my own cc's!
