No school today, the weather is freaky outside.  It can't decide if it wants to snow, freeze, or rain.  Sort or weird, we never get rain this time of year.  It's still around freezing and it snowed yesterday, and raining right now,  so all schools are closed!   It's icy out there!

40 minutes exercise bike, cross training - 9.3 miles

haven't yet gotta wait for my husband to get home but we're walking a mile AND A HALF today  then I'm going to do about 15 minutes on my total gym. I'm so excited my sister-in-law got the key to her gym at her apartment and I'm going and working out with her 3X's a week in the am. Would have done that today but the poor thing has the stomach flu something feirce

lol, sauna doesn't count as exercise, but nice try....

question, why use the machines for crunches.  far better to rely on your body alone.

no I dont count the sauna as exercise, but it is part of my gym routine so I include it, and it is Far infrared heat so it does burn calories, so I love that, I get to read and relax and burn calories!!  as for the crunches, it kind of like an ab roller, it helps support my back so thats why I like it, I have a lot of weight to lift and its a good tool.

I hope you took what I wrote with a sense of humor.

Re: the ab work, seriously, ditch the ab roller.  It won't really  help, regardless of back issues.  I say this as someone who started ab work at 320 and now could lead my personal trainer's ab class (once I get my certifications formalized).  Your body will adapt and you will improve...when you rely on yourself.

Any contraption or machine is generally for newbies to learn form, but you should progress past that within a few sessions.  That's why no one serious about working out goes to machines and instead head to the free weights and cable machines or uses the body for its own resistance.  Teach yourself to rely on your body by using your body to learn the movements.  That way you will progress AND see results.

I walked 5 miles today, my dog enjoyed the walk more than I did though.

Thanks,  I went with a friend so it was easier.  You don't even realize you are exercising when you have someone to talk to you know?
