Do you ever just feel like it's all a joke?
I think for some of us, disassociating weight and self-worth will be a lifelong struggle! I know I have been well aware of it for several years, yet, when I hit that plateau, I give up EVERY SINGLE TIME. EVERY TIME. Except this time. This time is the last time ... because I am going to be focused on my lifelong goal of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. And when i hit that darn plateau, I am going to keep going, because I know that EVENTUALLY my body is going to give in to my new healthy habits. It can't hold out at this weight forever if I'm doing everything I can to be healthy. My excess weight is just not going to win this battle. I'm going to win it!
Today at my WW meeting, they were talking about not depriving yourself ... because if you deprive yourself of a food, you're just gonna want to GORGE on it after a while. They talked about FLEXIBLE RESTRAINT. That means RESTRAINING yourself when you need to (like at a buffet) but being flexible when you need to (having that chocolate cake, but make sure it fits in your daily target.) For me, that's makes it easier to stick to.
