What Have You Done Today to Make You Feel Proud?

I loves you too, Em! Hug You know, I was talking to Kim and Trix about this last night and I was telling them, I really wouldn't care if I lost another pound or not if my belly was just a few inches smaller.  When I work out, I always hold my core muscles tight, even when I walk four miles or I'm on the recumbent cycle.  My abs are rock hard and my skin is tight, there is just this band of resistant fat at my waist that drives me nutz.  I know, not far to drive.  My new plan is to find the perfect abdominal exercise that will not put a strain on my ovaries that will wittle off about six inches from my waist.  Wish me luck!  Thanks for the perspective,

Wow, lots of proud on this one. Very good. I'm thankful that I'm too busy to be affected by SAD, since I am in Seattle. 'Nuff said, if you read or watch the news. I bought a pair of fins and a snorkle, just in case. I remember being hit HARD by SAD when we lived in Wenatchee WA and I was working shift work. I'd often go to work in the dark, and drive home in the dark, and it got to me BADLY.

I'm proud that I'm back to the ultra healthy eating I was doing - didn't stray TOO far, but the Holidays were pretty cookieful.  Sometimes I take the ability to drop 5lbs in a day to be a license to sin.

BIG proud, which isn't so much a proud as a thankful, is that our sales have resumed (to a degree) in spite of being upside down in a move from one retail location to another. I sold several appliances in the past two days. A couple were over the phone to regular customers.

Found a new (ok, really old but I hadn't tried it) ab excercise this week. There's an incline board at the gym which I thought you had to use with your head near the ground and your feet under this bar. I don't like that one bit. But I saw a trainer put another old grandma on it with her head elevated, and lifting her legs, knees to chest, then extended and held. WOWZERS. My tummy feels like it's been worked over. At the end of January I'm going to re-weigh and re-measure and see what progress I've made. The size 8 jeans were comfy again yesterday, tho. I get free fitness training all the time by watching and listening to the paid coaches at Mieko's Fitness where we go.

Mary - have you seen those happy lights that are supposed to simulate sunlight? And, how's your butt? Ooo, and also - we used to have what the kids called a 'party tree' (as in Lord of the Rings) in our house in Wenatchee. It was a ficus, and I kept little white lights on it all year. It was a very happy thing for me. This house is too small for such a party tree.

Sam the Magnificent...how cute is that?

I'm doing so much better today.  The sun is shining and it's nice and warm.  I just need to stay outta the woods...it's dark and gray in there.

I'm glad to hear you got over all of that 'cookieful' bidness and are back to your size eights.  I'd KILL to be a size eight!  But I have to find an abdominal exercise that won't hurt my ovaries that will whittle my waist.  See if you can get me some free advice on that wouldga!

Mary
