Okay....was gonna wait until next Monday to start some sort of plan when visiting relatives had left and holiday entertaining was over, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!  I've reached my limit of eating garbage and ready to start eating healthy and being accountable.

Got on the scale this morning and gonna reset my ticker and Tuesdays will be my weigh in day, I guess.  I've picked my plan, on my way to the grocery store to stock up on healthy choices and I'll be good to go!!

Happy New Year everyone, a few days early!!

Edit:  Hey, just realized my mini goal of 250 is a 10% weight loss for me....that will be a good start!!

Good for you!

You are making such an important step, listening to your body. There certainly is a point when the body says to the mind "Excuse me, but no more".

Check out the website I got that article from for more motivation/ inspiration- it has heaps of great articles- motivation, nutrition, exercising, lifestyle and more.

Yessss! I will echo Em in the listening to your body sentiment. As I get older, I actually cannot eat a whole sandwich in one sitting - it's like I cannot digest food that well, even in amounts that are considered normal.

I credit my yoga practice to this, probably this had been happening for a long time but it was not til i actually observed how i felt after certain foods that it began to click.

I call it a feeling of "clean burn" when I stick to portions and emphasize veggies in any meal. It is a sloggy heavy feeling when I eat too much of even good things...I have taught myself (for the most part mind you - i still have moments) like apples or berries.

WW also played a part with its teachings of portion sizes - for me, i realized how MUCH food i take onto my plate in the first place really was a habit - a bad one at that.  Eating things in the correct portions is all that allows me to eat pretty much all foods.

menopause is what keeps me at this weight, but oh-KAY.

"The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not."   ~Mark Twain
